The clock in my 2014 GT w/Tech is unreadable by me for 2 reasons: (1) it sits too low and, (2) it's got red numerals and I am red/green colorblind (which means that the clock looks blank in the daytime and VERY hard to see at night). So I wanted a better solution since it's the only clock in the vehicle (why isn't there one on the Nav screen?!?). I looked at some cheap stick on clocks and decided that they were pretty ugly and would probably just fall off. Then I found a really nice LED clock by Intellitronix http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-LED-Clock-Gauge-Blue-Chrome-Bezel-Intellitronix-MS8009-B-Made-in-USA-/290977157837?vxp=mtr but how to mount it? Doing a search on the Mazda247 Forum I found that "block8head" makes a custom "pod" for the defroster vent that would work perfectly http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123753844-Custom-Defrost-Vent-Gauge-Pods-for-your-MS3-MS6-CX-7-RX-8. Well I am happy to report that a beautiful marriage was made (see pictures below) and I can now say that I am completely satisfied with my CX-5! I had a local car stereo shop do the install for me because, like I said, I'm colorblind and probably would have shorted out the whole vehicle!
Oh and I also swapped out the license plate bulbs with some 5000k ones that I bought from Vleds so the rear end looks great at night!
