My Engine Recently Blew Up On Me For No Reason. It's At The Garage Right Now, But They Seem To Have Trouble Locating a Replacement Engine.

I Was Wondering If There Is Other 2.3 Motors That Fit In My 2004 Hatch. I Was Told That The Mazda 5 & 6 Engines Were The Same.(Is This True Or False???) And Is The 2.3 Engine From The Focus And Fusion The Same To???

If This Is True I Will Be Able To Find An Engine For My Car, The Garage Found One But at 2000$ I Find That Very Expensive For a Used Motor. He Told Me The Prices Went Up Because There Is Very Few Of These In The Scrap Wards.

So If Other Engines Fit In My Car I Will Be Able To Find An Affordable Engine And Be Back Zooming On The Roads!!!

Thanks In Advance Guys!!!

ok, what you want is 2004-2005 engine... dont even think about 06+ since they are slightly different, as far as wiring, ecu etc... crank sensor.. and all that stuff...

why the **** is every word capitalized????

other 2.3's will work, wiring and trans fitment may be an issue.....

every word ? where ?? lol...

anyways... as i stated before.. you might want to look into 04-05 since they share same wiring... also transmissions are all the same aswell... housing etc.
only difference is wiring... and lets say.. 04 2.3's have oil dip stick in front of intake manifold going directly through the oil pan... and 08 has one going through the block.

if you get an engine from 06+ get new ECU and it needs to be programmed by mazda

Ok thanks guys. All I need is the block to refurbish mine. all the sensor and tranny are still good.

Sorry for the capital letter at every word bad habit of mine!!!!!

Yeah, it was kinda messing me up. I started focusing on the fact that every word was capitalized vs. what was actually being written. I had to read it a couple times.

Well I know now why my engine blew, the connecting rod in my #4 piston crack in half, causing a major failure. I found another engine for 1700$ with a garanty of 1 year parts and labour.

Now One more week and I should be able to get my car back!!!!

I would think "major failure" is a bit of an understatement, but then I also haven't seen the inside of the engine block post-failure.

Sweet.. Good luck!
