My CorkSport Inserts Impression

Well reading a lot of the post about the CS Inserts, there is reviews to both extremes. Personally my impression is....AMAZING

Install - Took longer to jack the car up and get the stands set. I didn't even need a breaker bar for the bolts. Scale 1-10 on difficulty...0 it is SUPER EASY.

Install Tips- Use the scissor jack against the oil pan and the black brace and extend it until you can easily remove the mount.(it will be more then you think). Do the same to install the mount with the inserts installed.(you might have to extend the jack even more, and then you will have to force the mount, with the inserts installed in because it will be thicker) Then use the scissor jack to align the center hole of the mount when you get to that point. (bolt with threads to the end goes inside the center of the rubber in the mount)

Shifting - Very smooth and fixed the 1-2 gear shift lashing. Then smoothed the rest of the gears even more.

Performance
- AWESOME. I easily regained 10whp lost in the drive train. All gears pull harder and acceleration begins the second you hit the pedal. 1-2 gear I noticed a major performance difference.

Vibes - Right away you can barely notice the vibes, and the vibes are different then the ones you would get with a AWR mount in an MSP. The are more felt in your feet on the floor boards rather then the WHOLE dam car. I can only describe it as feeling more in the pedal which makes for awesome feel. The vibes are very minimal and will defiantly be gone in a week or two.

Recommendations - EVERY MS3 owner modding the car or not should purchase these inserts. The car should have been stock with these inserts no doubt.(nana)

I agree.A new rear MM is a must even if you dont plan to race the car.It makes shifting feel better and I like to be able to tell if my motor is running rough or smooth.

I've got the inserts also and agree with your review but I can still induce some pretty ugly wheel hop. However, I don't understand the sciccor jack against the oil pan..(huh) Doesn't sound like a good ideal to me. I found out from one of the many previous mm threads that removing the brace(or whatever you call that thing with the 3 big bolts) that connects the mount to transmission is the easiest and best way to do it. Your difficulty scale could have been -1 Super Duper Easy....lol...

i just use the scissor jack instead of having someone else pull everything back. Im a one man team considering the girl friend just blew bubbles the whole time.(Dam walmart and your 99cent bubbles at the check out lol)

I'm ordering these inserts right now. I'm looking for a better shifting feel and this seems to be a cheap mod.

Put mine in today . I am an idiot. Took me two hours and I got frustrated twice. I ended up pulling the 3 bolt brace like mentioned above. If I was on alift 30mins even for me. While i was down there i checked hardware on new exhaust that hits tunnel brace under wheel hop and hard acceleration. Made some adjustments to hangars as suggested by members. so started her up and she vibrated nice like, absolutely knew motor mount was there. in a very good way, Just did a couple second to third hard shifts and clutch dump in second rolling. No rattles or exhaust movement! You guys are right it must be installed. Dramatic. IMO! oh ps modulate throttle don't hold throttle to floor and you have access to smooth burnouts if that is what someone might like to do. With practice, third gear will spin smoothly also. Oh yes Delighted again.

i dont know why you used the scissor jack when you can just remove the mount bracket 3 more bolts granted you need to retorque those to 85 ftlbs.

Just had mine installed as well. My friend had a little bit of trouble getting the bracket with the 3 bolts off. Once that was off, it was pretty easy to put everything back in. Well at least it looked easy lol...I just watched while my friend worked his ass off under the car.

The shifting is pretty smooth now. There are some vibes but only in first gear when first starting to accelerate. After that, it's barely noticeable. I'm sure after a few days, it'll be completely gone. This upgrade is definitely worth doing, especially for $35!!

i didn't want to have to worry about 3 more bolts becoming loose. Id rather loosen/take out 2 and recheck rather then 3. This might not make sence in everyones head, but for me it does. It's all personal preference

Reviving this thread as I just got my MS3. Gonna get the TWM shifter bushings soon, but wondering if I should get the CS inserts. I came from a WRX that was pretty-heavily modded. So for this time around, I wanted to leave the MS3 as stock as possible and enjoy the queiter/less harsh ride. The MS3 drives like a Lexus compared to my WRX. So my question, how bad is the vibration with these inserts now that everyone who has installed them has had a good amount of time with them? I really don't want any more intrusive engine/exhaust drone than there already is. Does the extra vibration really completely go away or you all just getting used to it? I realize this may be the case of "You can't have your cake and eat it, too." I'd like for the car to feel more solid, but don't really want to deal with the extra vibration/noise at idle; with the AC on; or on long ronad trips. Maybe the shifter bushings will simply have to do. Thanks for any feedback :)

I feel zero vibration..like ZERO. I forget I even installed it. I'm actually gona upgrade to something a little stiffer.

i swapped a factory ms3 motor mount and these inserts into my mazda5. works better than an AWR mount.

I have had the shifter bushings and the CS motor mounts in for a few months and they are simply transparent now. The car still feels and drives perfect but there are no vibrations at all anymore. Even when there were vibes, it was never bad and even a bit fun.

The shifter bushings and the CS motor mounts are just what this car needed to maintain a very smooth feel but with the added refinement you would want.

I find it harder to shift smoothly with other people in the car.... but maybe that's me. Otherwise, they really are incredible, especially for the price!

Vibes, what vibes? Never had any!!
