Disconnect your negative battery terminal and hit the brakes a few times to drain the residual power out of the system. That will reset your ECU and you should be good to go after that.

In my experience, you need to have the ignition on to the point the idiot lights and radio are on. Then undo the battery, press on the brakes, and wait a minute or two, turn off ignition, put on battery terminal.

If it is still not working, please provide a list of other engine mods, like a header or something.

He said it's the first mod...

Do you think you could have dammaged the MAF in any way, or are there any wires disconnected. Ie. Temp Sender that might still be attached to the airbox?

was thinking the same thing. Check the cables plugging into the MAF sensor. Also check the cable coming out of the temp sensor (goes through a hole usually around the bottom of the intake). Make sure the MAF is facing the right direction as well.

hey guys i checked all myconnections, made sure the maf was pointing the right way, and then disconnected and reconnected the battery. and thank you guys the light has now gone off. jsut a quick question any idea what my next mod should be? exhaust, lowering the car, new coils? just asking

lower the car it ride's even better lower
make sure u get your self a good set of coil over kit or strut's.

the stock one's work ok but dont last long.
mine's are giving out all ready.

If you are looking for more power, go for a header. I would aoso recommend a decent quality cat back exhaust, like Racing Beat, whichis what. I have heard the Megan ones are decent too. Of course, a short shifter would be a good idea. Makes the shift knob not hit the large soda cups from the fast food restaurants.

For show, rims and tires, tint, struts/springs, etc.

those are some great ideas guys thanks. i think i'm going to go with a new exhaust. oh and my p5 is a automatic is there a conversion kit for it? and which exhaust would you recommend? thanks

Exhausts are mentioned at length here on the forum, just do a search. The Racing Beat is regarded as the best. It is legal in 50 states, and most importantly, on the freeway, you do not get this droning sound lik the Mazda Sport exhaust Mazda sells. The real Racing Beat is $449 through Racing Beat direct, but I think there is a couple resellers here on the forum.
