guys i need a lil help. yesterday while i was at the pet store spending more money on my dog's meals than my own, a lady in a GMC Yukon XL, backed into my parked car, and her industrial rear bumper put the magic crumple indentation in the corner of mine, and cracked the rear tail light. She was insanely nice about the situation and a cop came took our info, and we exchanged insurance, but since its NJ, both of our premiums would go up etc, so we decided we would handle this in cash. I hate the rear tail lights and imagine there are subtler versions which are also cheaper, saving her money and giving me a cool option instead. I looked on ebay, but i'm really looking for a plain all black/red style with NO CHROME accents whatsoever. and no rice particles, OR do the red lamps from a mazda 6 look good on a black MS6? anyone have photos? are there better LED versions than what ive seen on ebay? finally, anyone know the cost of OEM so i can compare?

I believe I paid around $130 for a tail light when i broke mine backing into something. Not exactly sure tho

i don't understand how no fault states work....so did the woman back into your car parked w/o you in it but yet your rate would go up??

MN is no fault also, but you only report the accident to the party that is at fault, if that is clear....which in this case it is.

I don't think that your premiums would necessarily go up. My ex-wife backed the car into our house a few years ago (sore subject; don't ask) and our premium didn't go up from that and it was a $3,000 repair. Granted, I had NJ Manufacturer's insurance at the time (best insurance you can get in NJ), so other companies might be different, but I would check before going the cash route...

the cop even recomended it to me, he said any incident in nj in which you call your insurance company to make a claim will eventually be bad for you.
