ele, if youre gonna use dc-dc why dont you get an opus

Money.. I have so much more I need to spend the money on.. I already tried the ITPS (returned it), and now I am trying a DC-DC that traitorhound found and a guy with a camaro said that it survives crank. I almost bought a used 150watt opus the other day but he wanted a little more than I had.

On my setup I used the Gyration keyboard and mouse setup and i Love it. it's easy to use on the road and it has all the quick keys. It's a great mouse and keyboard for war driving. I also keep a cheap usb mouse in my trunk in case it goes dead thoguh

gyration is kinda pricey at around 100 bux last time i saw it. . that was a while back but its a really small keyboard which is pretty cool

ohh yeah guys... i had a ups works out like s***... i would let my car sit there for hours to recharge the batt in the ups and then i would boot the comp and drive around for 5-10 mins and the comp would shut down... i had the settings set to shut down the computer after 2 mins of running on backup power and because there was an inconsistancy of power comming from the inverter... the ups would kick in and then shut down the computer...

also i found that my 160gig rocket drive was very useful... i used to back my car up to my window and connect it to my hub and transfer all the files that way... so i went out and baught this drive... and now i have over 150 music vids and 1500 mp3s... and whenever i want to add more i just take it inside... im gunna go take another pic... brb

wild. . .i just stipped my car of all the carputer stuff. . ..i had to put it to stock since im gonna get my a/c unit replaced cause it does that flashing crap in the #2 setting.

sm4rtf00d: i could have told you that a ups wouldn't work well. . . dc2dc is the way to go. . .i don't have an opus but i built my own shutdown controller that works just fine. i will be redoing my lcd mount and ill be back and better than ever in a couple months while i redo some things. after doin my initial media transfers on my lan. . i find that normal updates on new music and movies are fine with a wifi card.

I migrated to the Opus and absolutly LOVE it.. Definatly worth the money. Currently my car is stripped of more than just the carputer thought. The door handles are getting shaved, and WW bodykit put on along with CF hood, HiBoost Turbo, e6X and some other goodies...

yeah i wish you told me 4-5 months ago when me and my bro decided to try it out wasted 95 on the pos that is now being used as an extention cord for my lamps tv and dvd player lol...
