I mentioned in a thread a few days ago that my bro-in-law had a GT500 and there were several requests to post some pics, so here they are. The plan is to go to the drag strip friday night. I plan to get some videos and pics of that.

Updated with daytime pics. No need for the night time ones anymore, so I took them off. We will be going to the Drag Strip tomorrow night as I said. Subscribe to this thread if you want to see some vids and pics from that. I will get those on here by Monday afternoon. Enjoy.

Not very impressive. If someone has a Mazda that can whoop this please contact me, so I can setup a time for my bro in law to get his ass beat by a 4banger at the strip one Friday night. Just Kidding. I am sure there are plenty of Mazda's out there that can beat that, and they don't need to prove it. All I have to say is that this car is show only. That 503 hp ain't s***. Once a again a waste of money. For you guys and gals that love this car, enjoy the vid. Take care.

Those stripes look like mazda laser blue to me! Shelby GT500 is an awesome car, but for the love of god ford get the suspention right on a 40+ thousand dollar car and put the thing on slimfast. I can sense 550 hp in the future SVT mustangs.
 
Agreed - it's nice and I'd love to have one...but it's too heavy. It doesn't really feel any faster than my GTO and my GTO was $15,000 cheaper (I realize it IS actually faster, but not by that much).

That beast was 60 large to drive off the lot. MSRP is 48 i think, but to guarantee that he got it, he had to overpay.
 
Yeah it's pretty much like that anywhere, I think the average is 10k down and 15k over MSRP.
 
Must really love that car to pay that kinda of cash for it. I mean a lot of people have hardons for these stangs. I believe the coupe starts at 42K, but dealers are a bunch of thieves and mark these things up 15K. Once the camaros and challengers come out these things will be back at sticker price...well hopefully before they come out. The Challenger has the best body imo, plus will not be as expensive as the Shelby because of chrysler's LX platform sharing. Both camaro and challenger will also have IRS which is a big plus. Hell if it were not for the stang these great muscle cars would have never come back in the first place. Good job ford for that at least.

Dude, I have to admit that I really don't like the Cobra. It is a waste of money. He bought this to replace a supercharged 05 GT that is probably one second slower if that. I have a major hard on for this car though.

car is bad ass as hell. id love to drive one BUT after reading the article in car and drive with that VS a base c6, im just not that impressed. have fun with that thing at the track;)

I've also read that car will start at around 32K with the base v8...not sure about the srt-8 but probably under 40 even with the 425hp. I never cared for Chrysler all that much, but they really did a great job with this car.
