My beater 323 wagon

I went over to the garage today to install the new spindle and the dealership sent me the wrong one. I was really hoping to have her back on the road this weekend. I've also noticed since she has been on the trailer that the gas tank has a split in the seam causing a little leakage when the tank is full.

She's back on the road and driving well. The front brake pads need to be replaced and I'll have that taken care of in the next few days. Only 75 more miles to go before 300,000.

Sweet, good to hear. Are you going to be improving the looks or performence of the 323 at all? Or are you just building it back up to be a daily driver?

As much as I would love to add some performance to this car (I love sleeper wagons), I know that it would take funds away from some other even better projects I have sitting around. My next big build is an LS-1 powered Datsun 260Z that has been sitting in the driveway for a few years now. The beater wagon will simply remain a DD. I did promise myself that I would rebuild the motor at 300,000 miles and it needs it badly. I might go ahead and pull a B6e (DOHC 1.6) out of a junk Mercury Capri and throw that in the car since it's a no fab, drop in swap that will add a little more HP without sacrificing stock reliability.
