I don't know why but my 5 keeps shocking the crap out of me when evr I get out. My wife has no problems when she drives it and gets out. It only shocks me. I had the same problem with my MSP, but I noticed the voltage varied so I assumed it was a short. Does anyone else have this problem?

I got out at Papa John's today and that shock hit me so hard that My heart fluttered. My heart actually hurt and my left arm went numb for a couple of seconds. Scared the s*** out of me, I just had a kid 3 days ago and I'm in a Papa John's parking lot feeling like Fred Sanford.

congrats on the baby
i try to cloths the door with my elbo so that the shock goes threw my coat and it dont hurt as much

That'll only work like three days out of the year in S. FL.

Bingo. Works every time.

yeah our Saturn does it to, at night you can see an arch. There's two solutions that I've seen. In Italy they actually, no s***, have a braided strap dangling from the chasis to the ground.... lol but damn'd if it doesn't work. Another thing is to put a ground clip on seat with a wire to the chasis.

Personally, I think it has something to do with the tires. Mine does this to me only when I am running the stock 16's. That or maybe its just winter? :)

I get shocked by any car that has cloth seats. The grounding strap works, so does holding the door frame before putting your foot on the ground.

In the 1960s and later many cars had the gounding strap attached to the rear bumper. This reduced the chance of a spark when filling the gas tank. The static charge is in your clothes when you slide off of the seat. What you are wearing and the 5's seat fabic may have nylon or wool or both, which causes static electricity. Touch the door frame as suggested before setting your foot on the ground.

The 5 shocked me and both my 3s have shocked me. The trick for me is not to touch the metal part of the key when removing the keys from the ignition.

Yeah this school year has been crazy, autocad has been fun up until the 3d modelling kicked in, digital video production, asp, PHP scripting for web design 2.
