1994 MX-3 KLZE
Hey guys!

So recently my 1995 Saturn blew up-- not shocking, I know-- so I've been in the market and this '94 Precidia caught my eye. It's a KLZE swap; car has 220xxxkm, JDM engine has 90K so I'm not worried about that.

But what I'm having troubles with, and forgive me, is that I can't seem to convince my mechanic that should something go wrong with the vehicle engine-wise, we won't have a horrible time trying to figure out what's wrong. Basically, the mechanic is concerned that should we read the code, it'll be a code for the original engine and not the KLZE swap. Are there ways around this? I think they just need piece of mind after we've had some... domestic (**cough cough** buick**)... gremlins. They're super concerned about the JDM being even more of a nightmare.

Anyhow, to help out, I'll list the 'modifications' on the car.
  • KLZE swap
  • torsion bars (mounted above the motor)
  • stage 2 clutch

I'm completely sold on the car, personally, but I have some convincing to do with the mechanic. Any and all information (even if I can't make heads or tails of it) is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

torsion bars?? take pics of those i never seen em. The best way to get mechanics to work on your car is to not even tell them about the swap because the K8 (the original mx3 engine) is serviced and diagnosed the same way. Everything is the same. Torque specs fluid capacity EVERYTHING except the spark plugs and the fuel filter. What ECU do you have??
