My alternator just went and took it to the shop, and they found around 5500 dollars worth of other junk that needs to be fixed on it. (oil leaks, turbo, rack and pinion... etc). Thank God I invested in a warranty from the selling dealer!! But looks like ill be MSP-less for about a week or two. Good luck with your caliper issue dude. But, as StealthWyvern pointed out... could be worse.

i bought my msp 7 months ago and had to put a new tranny in it, new water pump, new timing belt, new plugs and wires, new tires from them getting eaten to s***, new rear calipers, rotors, and pads are getting ordered right now, i have a bad rear clunk noise and my struts squeek over ever pebble i drive over, and I ******* LOVE MY CAR even with mad hesitation and s*** gas mileage.. msp's rock dont be a baby.

Haahhh my right rear brake rotor just cracked in half bcuz I ignored it getting stuck for 3 weeks and now It cracked s*** happens when u ignore the signs and noises and squeaks lol by the way anybody wants to donate rear rotors

well whatever, way to give the msp rep the "ricer" rep. god they are atrocious. do me a favor. fix your caliper, and go back to stock tails it will look much better. i guess i can start bitching and crying to that i got two oil leaks at the moment, terrible hesitation, front and rear clunk list goes on. its a vehicle it happens. sounds like you need to go pick yourself up a honda.

Dude, its a old car.. more then likely been beat to hell ect ect ect... a caliper is a wear and tear part.. untell you have been in my boat with the issues i have had, then b**** untell then stop ******* crying...

I've had to put several different turbos due internal wastegate issues, rebuild my trans due to the previous owner(4 times due to crappy shop), replace every coupler on my car due previous owner not making enough clearances when installing the perrin fmic, my sway bar bushings are so shot I have front and rear clunk, my struts are on their last leg, my motor moutns are shot. The car eats tires like crazy even with alignment, balanced, and tire presure. I have had two MAFs go bad, a bad 02 sensor, bad thorttle body, 2 injector o-rings leak under boost, bad rad mount bushings... ect ect.. the list goes on but you do not see me bitching and crying to the extent that you are.

Sure, I b**** about the car adn the price of parts for it but its all aprt of being a car owner... Do you work full time, support someone else all while paying every bill in the house solo and trying to keep 3 cars up and running while still makign car payments on two of them? If not then stop yoru bitching..

What all issues have you had with yoru car to cause you to b**** so much...? So far a caliper and what else?

You're complaining about a rear brake caliper? Financial fail. If you hate the car so much, why are you even considering a big brake kit? I love my car and I loved my other Mazdas. Car's break, they're mechanical... Mechanical things fail, they're not organic like a human that heals itself. But much like the human body, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. I'm picky about my cars, I take care of them, and it drives my girlfriend crazy when I ask her, "Do you hear that?" or "I've got power loss" or any other car related problem because that means I'm going to be in my shop diagnosing and fixing it. Sure, I've replaced all my sway bar bushings, sway bar links, and control arm bushings, but it's the price you pay to have the car you want. I knew of the problems, but love the car and won't let it go into a state of disrepair. I'm hard on cars. Really hard. I've probably got it easier than most because I've got my own shop to use at my disposal and parts sourcing that allows me to get even the most outrageous priced Mazda parts for cheap. Mazda parts in general are outrageous compared to other manufacturers. Trust me, I know, I manage a European repair shop and have owned multiple Mazdas. Getting onto a Mazda forum to b**** about a car that you probably don't take care of and have purchased without doing research is doing nothing to help your cause.

I've had my MSP since it had 24 miles on it and with 85kmiles it still runs like a champ. Besides typical maintenance it has been a great little car. However, I'm not overly abusive to it nor have I ever turned up the boost. It's people that expect more out of this car than it can give that ruin it.

On that note, a used MSP is the LAST car I would ever purchase given my previous statement.

Go buy a brake caliper and move on.
