MSP wont move

It started as a clicking noise when driving coming from the clutch area. The sound lasted about 4,000 miles until I pulled away straight from a stop light and the car barely moved. When I stepped on the gas the motor revved but the car didnt move. The car wont stall in gear at a stand still. I'm thinking clutch went.

I just replaced the clutch. One of the angles that attach the throw-out bearing to the clutch fork snapped off.

I reassemble everything and I have the same problem. The car wont move and wont stall. When it's in gear the rpm goes to 1,500. I can slip out of first gear without pressing on the clutch and the rpm goes back down to idle rpm. I cant go into gear without pressing the clutch.

Any ideas?

not really. um. you might have a fill plug on your trans even though its a manual. stick your finger in there and see if it looks like red matallic paint. im sorry sugar. your clutch was alligned wrong, im sure, thats what blew mine. it was putting pressure on my dif and ripped my pressure plate apart. check your clutch, make sure its still okay. what clutch did you do with?

Dif, 98 percent positive with 2 percent covering my ass.

This is exactly how my 2 went out. I had all this wishful thinking it was just the clutch. Got a new clutch the first time and it still didn't move. Second round replaced the cutch and didnt bother putting the gear box back on. Disassambled the gears and Snap was my LSD.

You have a few options. Quaife like i did wich is uber expensive but will never break again. Welded stock wich most likely will never break again. or Stock wich will indeed break again. Eitherway you go make sure you replace the front and rear motormounts with some stiffies (uh huhuh stiffie) to cut down on wheel hop wich is the number one killer of our lsd's.

If you know how to do it yourself amen to ya. If not please get a shop to do it. My car has been down for 4 years from friends saying they new what they were doing... (it might actually be done today woot woot!)

He can also go with an open diff that will never break again but just won't put the power down properly whn needed.
