Curious: I have a bud with a salvage yard that has a wrecked MSP
I need to know if I can take the Turbo/ Injectors and ECU out of the MSP and bolt it all up to my P5 and go? I will be using a front mount and custom piping as well as piecing this thing togehter with the usual stuff. BOV / boost cntrlr, etc etc etc..
Thx.

I don't see why not....someone else on this board has done an MSP / P5 conversion using the same ideas.

Injectors you do not need to change....they are the same (someone correct me if Im wrong).

hmm, you will need parts you didn't list and you don't need some parts you listed.

First thing I would buy is the MSP tranny and axles. If you are looking to do a turbo project I would just get the manifold, turbo, and maybe the downpipe...I wouldn't bother with the msp ecu as it's garbage anyway and it's not any different than a p5 ecu. how much does this guy want for the whole car??

Are the Brake calipers and rotors on the MS Prot an upgrade to the P5 Brakes?
Will I need to take the Master cylinder from the MS as well?
He is selling the whole engine on Ebay for 2K starting bid. Oh well so much for scavanging.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot....7412377
If anyone has a good Turbo kit for a resonable price that has been proven to work at 8 to 10 lbs of boost with the option to run 12 lbs with race gas let me know. I also need to know what an MPI is. I have seen it mentioned many time here but have no clue as to what it is. If I run Turbo with my car do I need to use a standalone ECU? Which one is the most user friendly. ie: plug and play.

Thanks
Brian

I am also looking for a wing like yours TopPro. Do you have a contact # for someone I can buy one from. Cosmetically I have big plans along with the Turbo.

keep your p5 ecu and run a GReddy eManage instead of running the MSP ecu.

make him an offer outside of ebay and see if he accepts.

I've got the Turbo parts of a MSP that are going to be installed this weekend. I got the manifold, turbo, downpipe, midpipe, oil lines, coolent lines, ecu (which I'm not installing right away), oil cooler, BPV, plus you have to change the coolent, oil, and spark plugs. I bought some streight SS pipes and some 90 degree silicone bends with clamps. I also picked up the injen CAI. No IC yet, that will be a second stage setup. I didn't worry about the axels or the clutch (those are larger and stronger than ours), I figure when they go, I'll fix them then, not a must need part for the install. Someone else told me the front discs are better on the MSP, but they look about the same, I'm not worring about them either. You can always do drilled rotors and better pads if your looking for extra stopping power, or do a big break upgrade. Hope this helps. I'm going to be taking a crap load of pics during the install.

well, the one thing on most OEM turbocharged cars is a knock/detonation sensor. does the MSP have one? i'd assume it would. i'd snatch it up if anything. just my .2 cents

Brian, here is some information from another thread about the high boost kit. Not sure if the kit fits into the resonable price category (that depends on you), but it certainly meets and exceeds the boost levels you are after.

We have the E6X on the car now. With stock pistons we were able to raise the boost from 9 to 14 psi on 91 octane with no detonation. Now we have the 8.5 to 1 compression Mazda/HiBoost pistons and can boost as high as 17 psi on 91 octane. E6X works really good.
