msp topspeed

It should not be sometimes. It is always 136mph, which is about 218kph. Speedos aren't the most accurate things in the world though, and the governor feels exactly the same as spark cut from hitting 100% duty cycle. If it is cold enough or if you have a bad wga or a lot of mods, you could hit 100% well before top speed.

There is a speed sensor that mounts on the transmission connected to pin 58 on the PCM. There is also a vehicle speed sensor going to the gauge cluster, so I believe you could disconnect pin 58 and the speedo would still work, but the PCM would not be able to read your speed.

I have no idea how it would behave, may just throw a cel, may not run at all. I guess I could try.

I know I was playing with it in the snow the other day and had it around 140 not sure the exact speed although I might have actually been goin 10ish. A lot of people claim no gov on their cars others say 115 you guys say 135 I've seen 120 once in this car and that was enough for me. If your going over this speed constantly you will learn when you go to jail or wreck it.

a long time ago I was doing 126ish and climbing on the interstate in the fast lane, and a truck got over in front of me going significantly slower than I was. I'll never do that again.

As far as I know the msp is governed at around 136ish and the other non-speed proteges are at around 117mph. This is purely theoretical and I certainly have never tried this with my msp and my dd protege........

I think top speed is 136-138... according to the speedo. My governor kicks in right around 138ish the last few times ive hit it and the car kicks back on a few mph drop later and repeats if I stay in it. However its kinda pointless because at those speeds who in the hell is stairing at their speedo anyways? Also your pretty much out just about out of gear at those speeds as well... As Destineal point out, if someone pulls out in front of you your well screwed! Plus you have no reason to be going that fast in the first place public or private road.

If its kicking back a few mph and going again it's not a governor my moms vibe has one at 115 when you hit it it will shift from 3rd to o/d and stay at that speed unless you go down hill and it will pick up a few more mph

It must be programmed different in different cars but the gov in this car acts just like the oen in my 97 stique.. Either way its moot we really have no need to be goign tripple digits.

Actually that's called a governor. If you have your feet pedal to the metal and it's doing that, it's a governor. It's not allowing you to excess the speeds it's programmed for

Basically when the governor hits its like a brick wall. Fuel cuts, you go down a few mph and then its back on. Scary as **** the first time it happens if you dont expect it.

I had the AEM FIC that monitored (and altered) fuel injector duty cycle for a few months last year. The fuel isn't cut, it actually spikes. Fuel cut is a term that goes back to the days of distributors where the ECU could not control spark. The MSP can just kill the spark, which would feel about the same, but not have the adverse affects of an ultra lean burn.
