man this thread is long dead...but to make a short story simple.
For the price of a Spec V w/o options, there is NOTHING that can touch it for the price, that's 20K CANADIAN.
with options stock for stock Spec V vs MSP would be drivers race both autox + 1/4 mile, there are so many factors to it, but it basically comes down to driver, and how much you know your car.
But basically, for the price, if you are in the US phone motorex and buy a used R32 GTS.
IF you are in canada, wait til next aug, buy a used 1989 R32 Skyline GTR for about 20K Canadian direct from japan + shipping + legalization fees (remember 15 year old cars in Canada don't have to pass emissions, or go through conversions to be insured, so you can buy directly from japan) Both cars will whoop the s*** outta a MSP or Spec V any day. Personally that's most likely the route I'm gonna be taking 2-3 years from now, when my Spec V becomes nothing more than a winter beater. I'm either gonna be in a RWD or a AWD summer project car.
This debate is long dead, we each bought our cars for diffrent reasons. This debate is purely subjective. Personally, don't hold this against me, but I see no future in performance with lowly FWD cars, no matter how you look at it, they're both hyped up versions of econocars, that are STILL FWD, with a very limited aftermarket.
