MSP Short Throw Shift?

I'm getting the TWM short throw and Kartboy bushings for christmas, I'll post the results afterwards.

Is better to buy the TWN SS kit or the TWN SS kit + ball bearing? Don' t really know if you need the ball bearing kit.

did u ever have problems with TWM, vulcanon?

at first I did because the heatplate was smacking into it under the car, but if you bend it a little there isn't a problem

so wait, can you use both the twm bushing and the kartboy ones? or do the kartboy replace the twm ones? They are in different places? kinda confused. i definitely want to get a short throw kit sometime.

The Kartboy bushings replace the stock ones around the ball. The only bushings the TWM (the ball bearning model) come with is to lower the heat shield.

Just to clear things up, the bushings we include with our kit are used to lower the heat sheild to allow clearance for the new shifter and avoid having to bend the heat sheild.

We offer two part numbers for the Protege.

MP9903SA - Protege and Protege 5

MP30103SA - MP3 and Mazdaspeed

Hope this helps...

So you'd use both bushings at the same time? Thanks

TWM

Can Someone explain this to me. Vulcanon said he had to bend his heatplate and TWM is saying they make the kit so you wont have to. Im confused

the TWM kits contain bushings to lower the heat shield (this according to there site as of last week).

Our bushings should provide enough clearance between the heat sheild and the shifter. I suppose there is still the chance that a heat shield could be bent during installation at the factory or installation of the shifter, to be honest it is a very flimsy part. In situations like this the bushings *might* not lower the heat shield enough.

We've installed hundreds of these shifters though and haven't seen any problems such as this.

TWM,

I want to purchase your 2nd Gen short shifter for my MSP and I live in Burnaby BC and was wondering if I could pay in Canadian instead of US? I tried calling your phone number but only received a French recorded message that I did not understand.

Thanks,

^ lol

well, i guess i wont have the heatshield problem since i took mine off when i installed my DP........sweet :D
