Mine looked stock outside, even the purple faded bubbling window tint. Didn't even have a boost guage inside.

"Hey wanna race?"

-"You got any mods? Pop your hood."

"Sorry, it broke, can't open it. It's just a dx, not even a hatch. Look there's no boost guage or anything. Wanna run?"

ahahahaha.. I hear that...

b18b block, b16b head (jdm) Everything ripped shinned and modded. jg ideolbrock intakemanifold, custom exhaust with race cat. custom intake, vtec set for 4k rpm ideolbrock set for 6k rpm. The rest is just the good ol good ol supporting mods. I will get a complete list later. I have to run to work now peace.

what does settin the intake manifold at 6k do??
Not sure what that meant either. Maybe I don't know enough about the edelbrocks....pretty sure its a single runner manifold.

is that victor x manifold made by edelbrok? i though they were all just short rsingle runner manifolds too.....whatever...sound slike a nice setup

Victor X is edelbrok and is a single runner. Nice manifold but everyone I know with a quick honda goes with a custom manifold anyway. But they're all boost ******, i dont know anyone with fast all-motor hondas or how to build them. Well, before they boost, even with low-comp pistons, their LS/vtec builds usually run hgh 13's. (dunno)

In 83 I bought a brand new RX-7, my college prof bought a 83 Supra. When me met at a light, we'd race... he'd win, but not by much.. 1/2 car length at 60mph.. I know that my MSP is alot faster then my old 7 ever was.

Supra's are nice but they are boats.

what about this old supra, can a msp own it?? ill let you come to a conclusion =)
Ummm yeah...

I don't know why people are saying the '88 Supra Turbo's are slow. I know a guy who built a stock block, daily driven '88 Supra from "Progressive Motorsports" and ran 11's all day on slicks. Then they built:

Bumble Bee Supra 10.77 @ 128 mph: One of the first non-nitrous 10 second Supra's driven by Trip Tatum and owned by God knows who? This car has the nickname of the bumblee Supra from it's familiar black with yellow racing stripes......Now retired I believe....Verick Bou owned.

ya, thats my bud jon's car, its sick, he doesn't even bother coming close to redline and wrecks everyone on the street, its probably at around 600whp on pump gas...

im sure the turbos are fast. never raced, seen or bothered looking into one though. what did they go for new, similar 2 a rx7?

Yeah, I used to own an old 88 N/A Supra that I bought used. It was my first car. Although it felt fast at the time, I think my MSP would eat it alive in both speed and handling.

I agree that for what was basically a 2+2 GT, the car was a freakin heavy boat. It would have performed MUCH better, even N/A, if Toyota had shaved like 300-500 pounds off of it. Anyway, mine unfortunately did not exhibit that legendary Toyota reliability and was in the shop more often than I liked for all sorts of things. Until finally the engine just blew one fine winter morning and I had to get rid of 'er. Afterwards, I was stuck driving a Civic hatch for the next 3 years (pissed) until the MSP came along. (yippy)

Nonetheless, I loved and still miss that car dearly as it was my first baby.

honestly, anyone can build any car to be super fast. I guess if where talking stock for stock cars here I would put my cash on a msp over an 88 supra n/a or heck even turbo. It gets really skewed when talking mod for mod and so on. We all know a good modded car will own alot of stuff if you have the know how and cash you can build or pay someone to build a fast car out of sticks I guess (dunno)

anyways stock for stock car I say msp of old school supra. Btw has anyone tried priceing a newer supra (late model) there still insane thanks to... you know the movie. heh.

blah...MKIV supras are still in the $20k+ range thanks to that stupid movie...i found a nice used one w/ about 35k miles...the guy wanted $25k. it was his son's, didn't want to keep it outside since they only have a 3 car garage. his son drove an NSX, wife a mercedes, and he drove some other luxury car...i think it was a BMW

My mother bought a Supra turbo in 87. It was the first year of that body style. The burgundy colour. I always loved driving it ( i had a 81 Prelude at the time). I remember it being pretty quick. Then she got a 91 MR2 turbo and I liked that one better. Then she traded in on a 93 Stealth TT and I didnt really care for that one at all.
