msp gauge cluster

ok so much buddy pick up a mazdaspeed cluster for his 99 protege and it dont work on it. so he told me i could take it off his hands for like $20. is the only difference that is says mazdaspeed on it? and will it work on my 02 p5?

It will only workif you have abs. Non abs cars use a speedo gear in the transmission while ABS cars have speed sensors in the wheels. Probably why it didn't work for your friend

Pretty much except the plastic is grey instead of black. If ihad abs id buy it

Correction I had a msp cluster in my 03 p5 which didnt have abs and it worked fine.. The msp cluster also has silver needle's plus it's ballin!! hop on that deal real quick!!

Its not possible for the msp or any protgs speedometer to work on a protege without ABS because theyre different in the way they read it.

i dont think you can keep the milage i know on hondas you cant when you swap them out... mazda may be different but doubtful
