MSP front w/o lip

my spoiler is off and after seeing these picutres im thinking about taking off the lip. i like the plain look. too much attention when people see the spoiler and a yellow car with a lip and rims. i want to be a sleeper looking car. thats just my preference. i liked the car when it had the spoiler, but i like it more without it. its just a matter of personal preference.

When I had the headliner out of my car, it didn't look as though a sunroof would be large enough to interfere with the beam. This is when I thought that I should look into getting one.

My MSP had a sunroof when I bought it new from the dealer. The local mazda dealership installs lots of things onto miatas to sell them as packages such as rims. I guess they just decided to try a sunroof out. It rocks having a sunroof. It added 1200 to the purchase price though. I'm the only person I know that has a sunroof on their msp.

Damn , i want a sunroof!!!!!!!!

Well, I personally like the lip, but hate the spoiler. one day it'll be gone...I like the way the car looks without a spoiler, but with the lip. Makes it look 100% cleaner and more mature..and also less attention from the fuzz...I hate being tailgated by cruisers.lol.

I don't think it looks bad either way but I will be keeping on the lip. I like the lip because it gives it the body kit look without being rediculous. Plus I was a honda fan and the type R's have the lip on em that I love.

For a thread about the front lip, there is a lot of talk about sun roofs.

I seriously considered a sunroof for a long time. Did some research on models and installers but was convinced not to get one because of safety reasons. It's a damn good thing I didn't decide to get one because I, too, rolled my MSP. If I had a sunroof I would probablyl have been wheeled away from the crash instead of being able to walk away.

You guys must be crazy to think it looks better with the front lip. IMO yellow MP3s look way better than Yellow MSPs and the only visual differances are no lip and a better designed rear wing.

Take RyanJayG's MP3 for example. Without the3.5 MSP front lip and spoiler the car looks balanced, sleek and smooth, not plain:

Now campare that to this MSP with it's lip and spoiler. There are just too many angles and hard edges for the pieces to look integrated. Maybe if the lip was molded on to make the transition smooter. But there's nothing you can do about that spoiler but switch it out.

Who am I to talk though, I drive an orange car with orange tint. I guess to each his own. (shrug)

i'm starting to consider taking off my front lip ... i think i'd like to get a set of fogs, and probably the cf wind splitter (as long as the one kooldino is trying to do goes through).

i also like the look of the mp3/03 msp spoiler. it seems more aggresive than the 03.5 spoiler without being ricer-ish.

^^ if I remember correctly the MP3 wing was also wind tested to improve aerodynamics while the 3.5 one was designed for looks only. I remember reading that somewhere but it may have been someone just spouting out misformation.

Well that's not really a fair comparison. Ryan's car has a drop and soem really nice wheels. I mean, you can say look at it objectively just for the body pieces, but it's hard to overlook stuff like that. In those pictures, Ryans car are a lot cleaner too, I think.

Not to say I disagree. I've never been a huge fan of the 03.5 spoilers, but I think I like both cars about the same.

Here is a new pic with the stock hood..Even more plain looking and I love it :)

interesting how this thread has evolved...but heck yes, the mp3 spoilers are wayyy better...and i think the cars look better overall than the 3.5s cuz they have a little different body that makes it look lower and sleeker.
drew--are you gonna just get some pr5 fogs and put them in, or try somethin' new? cuz i just picked some generic fogs up, and not sure how i should mount them...with or without the lip.

unless you're the next macgyver, i'd be suprised if you can get them mounted with the lip on. well, mounted in a pretty fashion ...

best chance is to try to remove the lip, which i think imma do (as long as the pops is ok with it, and seeing as how he wanted me to have some type of fogs, it shouldn't be a hassle).

what fogs did you pick up (link or pic)?
