MSP front brakes on a P5 (croos drilled and slotted)

Nice kit man! Gonna have to do it soon. How much for matching rears? I would have to do it moslty for looks but it would help a bit.

the rears will be $140 for the rotors and probably around $50 per caliper

This might sound like a stupid question, but whats the point? You can just get crossdrilled rotors that fit on the p5. Do the MSP have two piston calipers rather than the one piston calipers in the p5?

heres an example of why bigger rotors are better.
Take your bike, or your kids, friends, whomevere's,
flip it up side down.
Spin the hell out of the front tire.
now grab it and stop it at the edge. should be pretty easy
now do it again.
this time try to stop it in the center. you have no leverage. cant stop it.

Thats what the main point of this kit is. More leverage the further out you put the caliper.

Your stock vented and crossdrilled are basically nothing but show. The disk is so small, the venting is pretty much pointless.

now about your kit, are the RX-8 rotors even bigger yet? I know we share the same lug pattern. If the backspacing is correct, or even awefully close, and they are even bigger, I'd use them instead. Then you can pick up a set of 4 pot calipers from like summit or jegs, have a machine shop mill you out an adapter to go from our bolt location to the new calipers.

When I priced this a while ago, (got put on the backburner) total for 2, 4 pots and 2, 2 pots and the machine work would have been about $800. The only thing i didnt know was what rotors to use.

Have you done any testing with the RX8 rotors?

The main reason bigger rotors are better is because they can absorb more heat. Since brakes are heat syncsthey convert motion into heatthe more heat they can absorb, the better.
