I think it is supposed to help with fuel cut by leaning put the fuel curves causing you to have a smoother ride. Memphis post 901

hmm was that the flash that mazda came out with but if you do it you can't turn up boost pressure past stock anymore

Never heard of that. Honestly I don't the ecu has anything to do with boost levels only fuel/air ratios. Boost levels are ,to my understanding, controlled by vacuum and wastegate pressures.

just wondering what does this ecu do differently from a stock msp

iirc the stock ecu is not very well mapped out. The reflash resolves the hesitation issue that ALL msp's are known for. New map also smooths out the power curve.

would you be interested in trading for a stock ecu

I have a stock ecu replacement but thanks btw

Do u know if this will work in a 2000 mazda 626 since the only thing different is the actuators in the intake manifold which i dont think the ecu would really care if u have them or not and the main one im worried about is that the msp speed sensor works through the abs and mine is a gear in the tranny but still has the same wiring and plug so if it would work i am very intrested but need to make sure it will work first.
