MSP down... this is what happens when people don't look

I think I see something missing (from stock) in the first photo. The first one to figure it out wins ....... nothing.

Hint: Between the doors. (it may just be the lighting, I just checked mine out to confirm as I have the most stock MSP on the forum lol)

What the black strip sticker on the b-pillar? The same black colour sticker that wraps the upper part of the doors. That's the only thing I can think of but hard to tell with the quality of the pictures.

I think they did a great job...noticed the buff swirls caused from rushing it. Might just be cause the car is dusty/lighting.

its there its just the angle, yes there are swirls because they used a rotary not a random orbital by the looks of it, either way I have work to do to fix a few minor issues. I did notice that there is just enough orange peel on the roof the annoy the hell out of me, I'm going to go back and see what can be done as I would be a little nervous to wet sand it myself

If you didn't spray it, don't touch it. If they dry sprayed it... then you'd be burning through color in no time, and then you're starting over.

what do you mean by "dry sprayed" I googled but only found a few definitions that explained a poor choice of reducer or atomization of the spray

I'll come clean, I know very little more than I posted. I've never worked with auto paint.

Here is what I have lol: I watched the powerblock episode where they covered repairing paint defects and what I gather is that if the clearcoat is laid down incorrectly (exactly how I don't know, but your above circumstances sound possible) the clear ends up very thin and if you try to fix it using the same buffing techniques you'd use on orange peel, you'll rip through to basecoat and have to spray it again.

Sleepy, I could not believe my eyes when I saw your post (haven't been here in a while, my wife has been driving the MSP for the past 6 months...well, not anymore, we sold it last Friday). But I'm glad your Speed is back in the roads of Montreal!

Sorry to see the MSP lip like that. Did you ever fix it, do you know where get a replacement one? Ive seen a replica mold of it here or somewhere. I wonder if those are still available.

The car was fixed and looks like new (well from the outside anyway)

the lip is no longer made by mazda is my understanding, but you can have one made for you by someone up here in montreal. PM Focus, he should be able to help you

the only other person I know that was making the 03.5 lip was iSport but in CF...wonder if you can get a FG version. iSport was renamed on this forum to someone else but I can't remember the members name

My Spicy was also taken out by a POS minivan. That's three MSP's in this thread that were hit by minivans! Attention: All MSP Owners, beware of the POS minivans!!! The minivans were at fault in all three crashes!

sorry for the lost and congratulation on the new found. Looks almost brand new. When i had my accident it was on the passenger side too i wonder how many people had accident on the passenger side?.

Merely a flesh wound. That will buff right out!
