Welcome aboard!... It's nice to see another person who is about to make a great choice for there next car.
MSP in Toronto can be found anywhere. I went to Markham and Morningside Mazda and they both accept deposits. I don't believe that in Toronto they have only certain dealerships who will be getting the MAZADASPEED Protege. Every Mazda dealership should be getting a few MS-P.
Where abouts in Toronto do you live in? I'd like to plan a MAZDASPEED Protege Meet for Toronto a few weeks/month after everyone has taken delivery. Tell me if you are interested.

According to Mazda CA, every dealer will get one. That's 150. Unlike the US, they will not go the MazdaSpeed franchising route until at least next year.
Then the last 100 are up for grabs (the big dealers say that they got up to three of the MP3 series). However, the last part is not official according to Mazda.

I visit the avante Mazda here and the salesman was pretty uninformed so I don't think i'll put my deposit there.
Went to Markham Mazda the same day and the guy knew what he was talking about. Gave me the Mazdaspeed brochure.
I think i'll go back on Friday to put deposit down. Not sure if i'll buy the car but I want to reserve one for sure!

Make sure you have an escape clause (e.g. not over a certain MSRP) and date of delivery that you can tolerate. Otherwise, you could lose your deposit.

Get it in writing. Words mean nothing in court. Mind you, there will be others who probably want your spot.

MrB, sorry to hear your disappointing experience with Avante. I did not get my MP3 from Avante because (1) the sales were too busy with people trying to snatch up P5 & (2) my friend knows the owner of Westowne Mazda.
I am regretting a bit now because Avante has really good post sales service & support. They are big supporter of the Toronto Protege Club (toprotege.com). They are also very supportive of people getting mods. I have heard nothing but good things from folks from the club.
You should definitely check out toprotege.com and share your story with Raymond (in the Ask Raymond section) - he works at Avante.
