MS6 Build Number Thread

This whole idea definitely needs to get spread out across the forums. If you get MSF, 6club, and 6crew involved, this will fill up nicely, and you'll really start to see some trends. I'm going to download it later tonight and play around with it to see what we can do, maybe set up some conditional formatting and other things to make it more easy on the eye.

post on other forums and get their info.. im sure theres more then 70-80 MS6 peoples on some forums.

yeah im gonna make a post on 6 crew, 6 club about it..banned for life from MSF lol.. not getting into why

Steve that doesnt make any sense because then the Canada Models would be out of sequence too, and thier not.. JDM P5 lives in what brazil and his number is in sequence too.. on top of that This is confirmed by a Mazda rep.. i dunno if you missed that in any of my posts/ pm's ive sent you about AMM, im just waiting for him to come on here and confirm and post what he told me over the phone. i guess its a case of haters gonna hate.

I can post it on MSF, but you'll see many of them are on the other forums as well, so it shouldn't be a huge deal.

I understand you confirmed this with a rep, but it still leaves a few things to question. As I said in my PM, there are still too few (80 out of a possible 10,000?, that's <1%) to really prove either theory. They were obviously NOT built all at one time, so we still don't know all of the finer details of the build dynamics, but your rep might be able to confirm more of this.

Trust me, I'm not here to hate. I hope this is all true. I'm just being a realist.

lol yeah if you could post it up on MSF too.. i still cant login over there, but i gave it a shot.:)

this has been posted on 6 crew and 6 club, the links are posted in my post above steve's.. but will be put into the first post too..

im hoping that My Rep comes on here with all information possible.. like how many of a specific color were made and stuff, how many GT models were mase of those colors, that would be badass.. he didnt say this over the phone but it would be badass if he has ALL the informaton regarding our cars..

edit.. gotta edit my link for 6club ********** <--- see that.. its stupid!!!.. there bad too??

last week i posted this thread on my local club... which covers most all of California.
so ill keep it updated with what goes on here, well i will for the next few days... after that all bets are off, dunno if when ill have access to a PC in july.

great stuff, and great idea about giving other forums a heads up.
as far as VINs being sequential... Yes AND no.
They are in terms of the production number, that much as already been confirmed by my DOJ contact, Boosted's mazda contact, Mistersix's shop manual, and a couple others.
They aren't in terms of TOTAL VIN #. Obviously every vin has certain info specific to that car like assembly plant, year, check #. We do not know if they kept the PN numbers sequential for TOTAL MS6 produced across the board, or on a per assembly plant basis, or on a per country basis.

so in fact, it is hard to say for sure whether or not the total vin number are all sequential to each other, or just the last 5-6 digits for assembly plant/production #.

Added a bunch more to the spread sheet from CARS.COM. Also added color break down by year from what we know. We are up to 192 known. We do not know of any WWP cars from 2007? Is that possible?

[EDIT]... Added from Cars.com not AutoTrader.

anyone else find it odd that we have yet to have 2 confirmed sequential numbers? There are 3 sets in that list, but both are Autotrader listings. Very easy to make a mistake entering a VIN, either on the Sellers Side or the person who transcribed it.
On one hand if they are sequential production numbers perhaps more would have been found. If they aren't sequential production numbers then I find it even stranger that there would be 2 sets of sequential production numbers. Just my .02

I do not think it is that odd (yet). Let's say there were 11,000 built for the US over that 2 year period. We know of less than 2 percent of that number. So what are the odds that given our sample we would actually find two in order? I am not sure, but my guess is that it a pretty low chance. We need more input.

[EDIT]... I did a bit more research on two of the VINs that appear to be in order.

VIN: JM1GG12L771108689

02/16/2007 - Emissions inspection performed Passed safety inspection (State of NY)
02/16/2007 - Title issued or updated First owner reported Registered as personal vehicle Loan or lien reported (Brooklyn, NY)

I guess it is strange that CarFax lists "Vehicle manufactured and shipped to original dealer" 5 days apart (3 weekdays). You'd think that date would be the same.

Yes, it is possible.. they didn't make WWP in 2007 otherwise I'd own one lol.

Sidenote: Sorry I've been MIA.. I've been on vacation and half of it was spent with family.

i'm sure that was a these cars go to that dealer these cars go to this dealer, etc, with a mixed selection of cars...so maybe they were waiting on a car to throw on the truck, or something like that

as far as car fax is concerned those dates may be the date it landed in N/A and then shipped to the dealer
