porsches use brembos with a zillion pistons in the calipers...we don't have brembos...^^;
i read in some magazine that the brakes are so awesome on the ms3 because they are from porsche, is it true??
i looked at them before on a lift and they are ginormous. they say fumoco or somthing on them. so they are from the volvo s60 huh???? thats interesting
porsche like braking. . .It was in Car and Driver
Another nonsense quote from C&D about the MS3. You have to be kidding me. My GTI with Audi TT brakes worked MUCH better than our brakes. You'd brake hard and your eyeballs would start to pop out. Not so with the MS3.
And, yes, I've driven a new 997 and, well, the brakes on the Porsche are on an entirely different level. Our brakes could use a LOT of work. (scratch)
hmmm lets see... for what quick research Ive done... 60-0 ft
2007 911 turbo ranges from 103-116ft depending on your source
2007/8 Mazdaspeed 3 ranges 111-116ft depending on source
2007 GTI 128-129ft depending on source
2006 Audi TT 119ft all sources.
Im quoting ranges from edmunds, autoweek, motortrend, caranddriver...
just because it doesnt "feel" like youre stopping quicker, doesnt mean you arent.
Now your GTI might have had better pedal feel and maybe less fade resistance, but numbers dont lie.
If anyone would like direct links please ask![]()
I should have thrown in our brakes are very prone to fade. They were horrid when I brought the car to the track. But, your points are well taken!
PS: I wasn't referring to a 2007 GTI. It was a 2002 337 edition with TT brakes.
yeah I read about when you brought it to the track... Im guessing better brake lines, pads would aleviate most/all of the brake fade.
