MS3 vs. MS6

I do not know forsure if I will be able to auto cross, but I was really thinking about it. I was also thinking about a rx8. I just don't like that the rx8 has a chance of flooding and that it gets horible gas mileage.

I think I got around 25 on the highway, but I typically got 20-22mpg in mixed driving, and premium gas. It wasn't exactly cheap to keep fueled.

I was reading another tread, and it said that the reliability of the speed 6 was not that great. It said that it smoked because of the turbo and that there were cases of blown engines due to mods. So I was wandering if any of you who own a spped 6 have experienced any problems with this. Any help whould be great.

Oh yeah, for those who own a speed 3, have you experienced any of these issues? Again, any help would be great.

Pretty much any issue you're going to have with the turbo would be the same for either car. I never had any problems, but I only had mine for about 8 months or so. I did have a couple of CELs, though, and they replaced the intake manifold to fix one of them.

i know some MS6s were having issues with the rear diff, but it was a bracket. Some MS3s broke their motormount.

Yeah my friend had to get his motormount replaced, so I know about that problem. I was just wandering how the speed 6 could have problems and the speed 3 was fine.

the MS6 did come out a year or 2 before the MS3, so it may be some early production models that were having issues.

i believe if you get the chance to you should drive both to see which on you like. you'll never know which one you will like better until you drive it.

I searched the turbo seal problem, and it seems like a recurring problem. I was just wandering if they can put the speed 3 turbo in it will the problem still exsist? Do many of you have this problem, cause if so I will look more towards the speed 3. Also is it mostly the 2006 models that have this problem, or do the 2007 models also have this problem.

there has been turbo seal problems in the ms3, also i have read some cx7s are starting to smoke. they have the same turbo and engine just different ecu stuff. i have a 06 ms6 and have not had the smoke problem. like i said you should drive both before deciding.

I'd be careful where you get your information. If you're basing your information on stuff you read in forums, you're going to hear from the people bitching the loudest and not hear from the people who are perfectly happy with their cars. You'll get the "OMG!!11!!! My rear diff just blew and my turbow's smoking two!!! I just went too the stealership and they are denying my warranty claim just becuz I have intake, exhaust, I opened up the turbo too see wut it looked like, I tuned it myself while driving down the skreetz, oh and I drop it at 5000rpms from every stoplight. They're such a bunch of assholes!!!!!11!1!1!1!11!!"

If you're basing your information on stuff you read in forums, you're going to hear from the people bitching the loudest and not hear from the people who are perfectly happy with their cars. So the speed 3 also has problems. I was under the assumption that the speed 6 was the one with the problem.
