MS3 Specs and Prices

hey, I never said they would cover the coilovers, just that they will most likely be available at the time the MS3 comes out. Mazda has some "race only" accesories that have no warranty(pissed)

ahh booo, i hear factory accesory and i get all excited...whatever, still pretty cool

I'm running out not to buy SCC too. I am going to to crazy waiting another 30-45 days for this car.

"APEXPREDATOR!" Jeez, call me cynical, but how much did Mazda have to pay for that one?

Can someone scan and post the article? I went to Borders, B&N, and Super G - and no one had it.
I'd be happy too, but it's 12 pages long.
I bought it in the local supermarket. 'Course I work there... and check in the magazines too. :D
This might help, but I didn't see it on there just yet:

Only 5000 a year.... so I'm taking it there will be a 2008 model as well. There were just under Mazdaspeed Proteges produced I believe. 1500 MP3's....

Damn, I'm not 100% sold on the styling and while a fan of hatches have always chosen sedans.... but I think I'm going to have to do it. I'll put turbo-ing the Protege infinitely on hold and sell it in a year or two for one of these. :D Sorry guy, I still love ya.

it's gonna be so sad to trade in my msp... but so worth it.
FYI: Will still have to do an FMIC for the full effect. It's explained why they didn't do that @ factory level in SCC.

Yeah, I know, buy 'em lunch, buy a bunch of ad space and everybody's on board for the hype. I think it's gonna be a great car, but you have to wonder when the mags get in on the 3-ring marketing circus with covers like that.

Because the hood has a functional scoop onto the intercooler a la the Mazdaspeed6 right?
Simpler than that. Mazda is installing the engine on the same line as the MS6 and the CX-7 and needed a "plug 'n' play" engine design. An FMIC would require additional plumbing, time and effort, so they did away with it.
I think the hood scoop was something of a compromise.

The GTI, SI, Cobalt SS superchared, and TRD supercharged tC are in the same price range but have just been blown completely out of the water by the MS3, I'm amazed the MSP can still hang with those other cars fairly well.

Oh well I guess I look forward to buying an MSP in the spring, cause I can't afford the MS3. Not that I don't look forward to buying an MSP :) half the price but almost as FUN...

Its ludicrous. No SCC anywhere. Sept. nor Oct. Safeway B&N 7-11, no one. I havent seen a SCC for months. Where did they all go? Its like they all stopped carrying them. Oh well i dont need to read the article to buy it!

Dude, it's the same thing here! You used to be able to get them anywhere, but all of a sudden, you can't find them.

SCC doesn't hit newstands until This Week!

I went to one place, and he said that newstands always get the issue at least one week after subscribers get it.

I also found out that Barnes & Noble no longer carry SCC. I don't know if that is country-wide, but it goes for Delaware for sure.

This week I'll be psycho calling the place where I found the September issue on Saturday...

(edit: I'll scan and post once I get it)

I thought it was interesting that on the sidebar of the SCC ad it talks about needing a bigger turbo becuse of limited boost. I guess everyone out there who wants to seriously upgrade the MS3 is going to have to go with a new set-up. They talked about the OEM turbo not being able to hold much more boost. I would be interested to see a turbo like the one's on the new Porsche TT with variable vane geometry. This way you get the best of both worlds, high torque and high horsepower...and a s*** load of wheel spin.

I wonder how much the MS3 puts out at the Wheels... IMO the only other current (in production) sport compact that comes close in the same price range is the Cobalt SS supercharged. That makes about 200WHP, I know the MS3 will prob do about 230ish WHP. Just saying the next closest thing doesn't come too close.

I was all over yesterday looking for a copy of the new issue, as well. The September issue says "display until 8/22" on the cover by the price, so I'd assume that on the 22nd or 23rd, the new one will be out.

That's not stopping me from looking tonight though! :D
