MS3 Short Shifter

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the MS3 already come with a short shifter?

As Benzo pointed out, the stock shifter can certainly be improved.

yea i think i did 5th gear once...its mainly 2-3 everything is pancakes with chocolate syrup.

The throw is really long compared to the cars I've driven. As others mentioned, it really stinks when you miss a shift while shifting quickly - the shifter would get stuck in the gates. What's worse is when you let out the clutch too soon (again for those of us used to the shorter throws - abrupt clutch engagement point doesn't help, either), and the gear grinds. After 5k miles I'm more used to it, but the shifter still sucks. >_<

what do u mean jsut hold the cluthc and shift in every gear? what does that do? how does it help?

To clear the gears of any debris or grease. I don't know why but it has helped alot. I don't miss as much anymore. Or maybe I have grown acustom to the shifting and know where the stick must go when under load. But I do it anyway.

i have missed 2-3 a couple times as well but only when im in a hurry to shift. other than that if you push the stick out of 2nd it pops out and goes right behind 3rd on its own so pushing into 3rd is cake.. on the other hand i hate 4-5 on this car. its awkward and such a pain in the ass.

I haven't missed a shift since I installed my twm shifter bushings and I would miss third every other time I accelerated hard. You wouldn't believe the difference they make.

it is slightly shorter than the regular 3. but most state that the throw is too long and inacurate. which i can agree to.

2-3 sucks and ive grinded it under hard accell more times than i like. 4-5 is REALLY long too. This might be the 1st mod i do to the 3
