MS3 Racing Beat Exhaust Review

The cat acts like a resonator itself, dawg... err, cat. Remove that and it'll go VROOM VRACKA CRACKA LACKA CLUCK PSSSS BANG or some such.

DN - so the Galaxy Gray Si Sedan is your wife's? That was the exact car I was considering before settling on the Speed3. If I ever did decide to keep the Speed3 100%, this exhaust will probably be a must-have.

Not an option for me!

replaces the 2nd cat, which is not used at all to monitor 02 sensors or anything of the sort. You still maintain your main cat which is the one that is monitored. the 2nd cat is just for sound, I promise.

It sure is. A sexy car at that. She put on new wheels that look ridiculously awesome.

Interesting. How much more sound are we talking? And is it still emissions legal to do this?

Do you drive the Si often? How's it holding up? Rattles and squeaks like the Speed3?

The moonroof rattles quite a bit when closed. Other than that the car is solid as a rock. Much less squeaky than my MS3 on a cold day.

yes it will pass emissions, that cat is nothing but for sound and that is it. Its more of a resonator than it is a cat, to be honest. It won't make the car ungodly loud like a downpipe will do, but it will definately add that grunt to it that you want. I recommend a turbo xs or a corksport or street unit test pipe. 4 bolts and thats all there is to it.

ok guys, wasn't happy with the stock exhaust with my turbo xs stealthback, so I just ordered a racing beat catback. I will try to get sound clips after install!! I am excited to see how it will sound, I think it will have that aggressive suby burble with the quiet exhaust but both of the cats removed! :)

and I will go out on a limb and guesstimate that it will sound pretty close to the Cobb tbe. Cause they said cobb's catback is real quiet by itself, as is this racing beat. I am excited!

I am going to be installing my exhaust on the catless downpipe/racepipe tomorrow, I can tell you how it sounds then. I know its gonna sound killer.

Wow, so I got it put on and I love it, it is super quiet, I was impressed. ZERO drone at all, even with catless downpipe. It sounds really nice and smooth. I might even look into having the smaller resonator removed to add some volume, but as I drove it around tonight, it was starting to get louder. Definately feel a power increase going from the stock exhaust to this one with the downpipe. I am very pleased thus far, curious to see how the sound breaks in.

I don't have a camera, sorry. But so far I am very happy with the sound, has the nice deep burble but you can't even tell i have a modified exhaust on the inside, it sounds amazing. Very nice clean look. If it don't get louder on the break in period, I am going to have the smaller resonator cut off, but it normally gets louder after a few hundred miles. :)
