MS3 Racing Beat Exhaust Review

I love the dual tip look too. It looks . . . upscale, restrained, elegant. A lot of us (well, at least a few) are getting tired of the 4" and bigger "ricer boy" fart can look. You sure don't see many expensive and quick European cars with 4" single tips.

If I knew I could get the tips separately, I'd take them and the MS3 to a welding shop tomorrow. Great look.

the dual tips actually look pretty nice. it fills out the exhaust cut out section on the bumper without having a huge ricer tip......

for some reason, dual tips remind me too much of cars from the 80's and 90's like the honda prelude and celica gts.

one pipe splitting into two? non-functional!

I'm pretty sure it will and yes, I'm gonna be the n00b to ask this question but will it (blend) fit on a Mazda3? I mean, I know it will fit...but will it fit. Know what I'm sayin'?

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. One of the nice aspects about having the rear tip section is that we have the option of offering different tip options, without having to modify the entire exhaust system. We gave it some serious thought to offering a single tip, we thought that the dual tips filled the bumper opening a little nicer and went with this option.

When we produced the Mazdaspeed Protege mufflers for Mazda we faced a challenge as to how to prevent the large oval tip they selected from making contact with the rear bumper valance. We incorporated some of the same design elements from that system into our current MS3 exhaust with regards to securing the location of the tips and we thought the look was a bit more refined and different than the more common single tip offering.

We also went with the tip section slip-joint (as compared to a flanged joint) to reduce cost and weight, and to compensate for reduced clearance in the rear sub-frame crossover area.

Well give serious consideration to the single tip based upon your feedback.

thats what i like to see -- vendors working to meet the demands of the customers!

Jim,

I think your CBE is the best sounding one out there at this point for the MS3. Offer it with a single tip and you'll have my business.

Welcome Jim. I too like to see vendors on the forums listening and taking recommendations from the end user.

UPDATE Nov 28th:

I've now had the Racing Beat CBE for a couple of weeks and even broken in it still sounds great and hasn't gotten much louder. It just sounds great. It's not loud at all and just has a great drone free exhaust tone.

We just now need to see more great products from Racing Beat. Like and full intake system :)

How are the tips holding up with all that pig-richness-soot? ;)

The dual tips are growing on me, too.

I love the dual tips. IMO the single big "ricer" tip that comes stock with the car is a little too much. I'm always getting bugged about what kind of exhaust I have. I tell them stock and they think i'm lying. So the dual tip has more of a stock look to it. I like!

Plus being made my Racing Beat is a huge plus! Had the 2nd gen RX7 exhaust from them. Great stuff.

When I first saw the exhaust on racing beats website, I wasnt thrilled. After seeing how they are staggered, and them mounted, it actually looks good. I know one larger exhaust looks "cleaner" but if people want to complain about how the dual looks ricer, I see alot more cars with one large exhaust they I see dual setups.
