Is there a way to get the filenames displayed on the screen while connecting the iPOD through the AUX port?

Like he said the short answer is no. How is the ipod supposed to send that data through the headphone jack anyway?

There are multiple integration adapters available which will allow you to control the ipod from the stereo but do not display anything on the LCD. The one method that does display text info. doesn't work with the clarion head units which are in all 2007+ models.

is if I get a male to male connector, it will work with the iod via the aux connector (inside the center armrest)?

Yes, if you get a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable then you can plug the ipod (or any device with a headphone jack) into the console input.

What, so the integration module is a waste of money? Or just good b/c it lets me run the pod through the steering wheel?

It's not a waste of money, it just does something different. If you're happy with a simple audio input then spend $5 on a 3.5-3.5 cable and be done with it. If you want to control the ipod from the stereo and have your ipod charge at the same time then the integration module is more what you're looking for.

Be advised that if you do install the integration module that the ACI (console input) will be disabled unless you purchase the optional switchbox from Mazda. Also the Mazda module will disable the ipod's screen and controls..... some of the aftermarket ones do not.

I shopped around for one of these todya and couldn't fine one at all. I'd raher not spend the $140+ to get the Mazda one honestly.
