ms3 colors, and their personality

I wish there was like a graphite or charcoal grey color. My first car was grey, and I hated it at first but it totally grew on me.

Then again, I've wanted a blue car from the beginning and now I've got it ;)

Not to switch the thread up too much... but anyone named their car? What are some specific names that go with the different colors?

Black. Don't love to wash, but do enjoy washing it. Don't write code, but I move cars like candy bars.

Car's name is Sophia.

cosmic blue mica drivers are obviously the fastest, smartest, best looking, and most successful of all the colors...=d

Black - Ok As*hole!! Get the F&ck out of my way!!
RED - Hey cops over here! Yes me - pull me over please.
Silver - I'm a cool dude, mellow but I'll kick your ass in a heart beat.
Cosmic - I'm special, at least I like to think so. Damn I'm so jealous of that aurora blue.

my car name is Abagale she needed a sothern name now that i moved to GA i needed a sothern bell. sunlight silver

im kind of suprised that resale value of the color of the cars was not brought up silver, black,& white have the best resale value but then again with our paper thin paint it may not have any effect.

i dunno about that...the cosmic blue is also the only special edition color for the ms3...the other three are all available for the regular 3...=D

Black car owners...a little tip: If you don't have one already, pick up a California Car Duster at Target or Pep Boys. This thing will extend your car wash cycle for at least a week or two if you use it every other day to wipe off all the surface dust before it collects and becomes visible. It takes less than 3 minutes and it works exactly as advertised.

Good advice. This black (since it's mica or whatever) isn't nearly as hard to keep clean as 'true' black cars. Sort of like gunmetal wheels... they look dirty even when they're not. (which, can definitely be a good thing)

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely give it a try.

Black... You don't own a black car unless you like washing it. this guy is all about keeping his car in showroom condition. when this 20 something's not detailing his ride, he's programming code for some big company and contemplating how he's going to make his 1st mil.

For me, You're right on the dot! I'm actually majoring in IT, but yeah, it involves big time programming.

And hell yeah, I love to keep it in showroom condition just like it is now :)

red is for the people who want there car to always look clean but not wash it all the time..bright colors hide dirt really well unlike black and its for attention ****** as its hard not too look at a blood red car the a4a red thats on them is almost pure red toner it has a couple drops of marron thats all

Ok I'm starting to feel a trend.... Going back to school for IT and I am OCD about my car.

Got a TR but I'm not a hot chick sorry :) Actually I fit the CB description, but I bucked the desire to blend in with the siennas, camrys, caravans, jettas, tahoes, prius, etc. I'm like the old guy with the kids car. (31)

I usually like to have fun and fly under the radar; my previous car was an Audi S4 avant in black. Looks like a boring station wagon but it has a twin-turbo v6 and awd.

I think the red looks good on this car.

Red looks good on this car, but I wished Mazda chose Velocity Red instead of True Red. I love the orange flake that VR has.

They should have showed the balls they did in 03 and dip into the spicy orange paint can. As a SO owner, I'm partly glad they didn't... but part of me wonders a) what the MS3 would look like (in person... photoshops don't do it justice) in that color and b) whether people would actually buy it.

As it stands, I think they did a solid job with choosing the colors. At first, I thought CB was too bland... and though I haven't changed my mind, I now realize that there's definitely a market for it. Silver, imo, is the best color... never really been a fan of black but it would've been a disgrace not to have it in the lineup. As far as the red goes.... VR would've looked good. real good. but since Mazda could only have 1 red, I understand why they choose the brighter of the 2. They wanted to make a splash (with their advertising campaign and what not) and the TR definitely held its own in getting people's attention. Whether it's a coincidence or not, it's also probably the most popular color. That alone justifies their choice.

For whatever reason, this car just doesn't have the same "look at me" design qualitiy that the MSP had/s. (that's no knock) so I think the more subdued color choices fit well with its sleeper persona. The only color Mazda dropped the ball on is white. I know Canada has it... next to Silver, I think white is the best. with the amount of people buying white GTI's, I'm sure Mazda would have stolen a few sales away from VW if they had produced one as well. Afterall, it's a superior car for less $!
