Car&Driver did an article in 2008 about MS3 into a MZ5 (engine/trans/suspension/brakes) that is posted on this forum (engine section?)

Of all the hassles they encountered, I do not recall any with the brakes.

Thanks Brian, it seems one may need to replace the MC and this seems to not directly fit into the M5.

Well thats just great. Now i need to find me a salvage ms3. Fantastic.

How am i suppose to explain this one to the GF?

Perhaps I'm missing something. Why does the Mazda5 need any better brakes? Just wondering what the reasoning is. Seems they function quite well.

I agree, Rex. Short of boosting the hell out of the 5 somehow, the five will never need better brakes than it came with from the factory.

You can get MS3-like braking power by simply upgrading your pads, and switching to an above average sythetic brake fluid. Make sure that if you do this that you turn your rotors first. The only thing is that your rotors will wear a little faster. the brake pad technology is so good that you can find a better product with minimal brake dust. Go to Tire Rack and look at the selections. I think the Hawk pads are pretty good. You don't need to bother changing your rotors, because the stock one will do just fine, unless you want to spend a bundle on rotors made of heat resistant materials. I don't think much of slotted rotors, because they only work good once the braking system gets up to a certain temperature.

Rust? (confused)

Buddy if you find a way to keep the rotors from rusting DAILY, then let me know, we'll make millions.

Now having said that, that amount of rust is NOT going to "hurting" your car, it's normal for this time of year.

Peace!(rei)
