Richmond, B.C. pics
Like all of you I'm waiting for my orange msp. I've been following this forum for a while and saw digi's photos. I've just got back from a business trip to Vancouver and on Thursday I had time in the afternoon, so I phoned a Mazda dealership, found out where the yards were, rented a car and headed out there. Don't hate me, but I had no camera.
They are still just like in Digi's photos. Some in rows and 6 near the buildings. It's not frost on them, its that protective white film they put on new cars. After walking up and down the fence a few times drooling, I decided to get brave.
I drove to the entrance .... no signs, no guards. I parked in the employee parking lot .... no one anywhere.
I looked in some of the windows to the buildings, then wandered down to where the msp's were. There are 43 of them there. Many don't have their wings, some don't have the bumper skirt (like those in digi's photos), some don't have the badging ... they all seem to need something. The ones without the wings ... the wing is in a cardbox in the back seat. A lot of the stereos weren't in yet, only a few had the Sparko shifter on, the rest had a black leather one, and only a few had the Racing Beat exhaust. It looks wicked ... real big. They all have the Racing Hart wheels, that's what you see in the photo.
It was a dark, ugly day but the orange looked incredible .... wwwwwaaaaayyyy better than any photos I've seen. I was a little worried about the colour but I pick this one anyday. Sorry to all you guys who ordered black.
I saw one thing that bothered me ... it was really too dark to be sure, but I think the colour match of the body and the wing wasn't great ... the wing looked a little more yellowy.
After a while I went looking for the other 200 msps.
I hit a part where the sign said no unauthorized vehicles so I didn't push my luck. I was standing gazing out at thousands of cars, trying to find more orange ones when I guy came out of a building and started asking questions. I told him my story ... deposit down ... Mazda being "uncommunicative" ... business trip ... yada yada .... he gets friendly. He was a great .. the yard is pissed because they want to move them, not store them. The other 200 are down in the "south yard" whatever that is. The hold-up .... ducts and turbo parts from Calloway, or more correctly, not coming from Calloway.
He seemed in the know, and it adds up with the rest of the internet talk. I think it might be time to stop nagging Mazda and time to send a few emails and phonecalls towards Calloway and see if we can rattle their cage.
Sorry about the length of this, but its my first post so I get a little leeway.
