I realized that only people with good mpg report, probably b/c people who gets bad mpg are too shame to do it. Well to balance it I will report mine.
I've been getting 21 mpg mostly, only once 28 mpg.
my 21 mpg is all aggressive city driving and 28 mpg is constant 80 mph drive from a road trip.

I changed out my plugs and I think there should be a big difference now tho, we'll see..

I am hear to report on my city driving to make you feel a little better. Even though I get 33-34mpg hwy I am only getting 26 mpg city. Why? It is a lot harder to control avoid stopping and also going into over drive if you can not go faster than 45 mph. I also believe that the car is not geared for economy but speed (thus the quick pick-up). To get better city mileage we would need a better tune and/or higher compression. The only reason smaller cars do well in the city compared to our cars is better tune and smaller engine. If you do a lot of city driving, the P5 is a gas guzzler. If you want good mileage for city and hwy your only options are smaller engined cars and hybrids.

Ha thx Magus but while saving gas is important I also want my commute to be entertaining. P5 is great, make me everyday wants to go to school even 6 months after i bought it lol. And the commute is only 3 miles per day. I usually pump gas every other week. That's a hundred a month. Hopefully this changing plugs can add 2-3 mpg to it.
Graduating early is more important.
And, there seems to be some difference b/w 21 and 26 mpg...and yours is auto!

Ha, you all complaining about city gas mileage right now - I've done about a mix of 50/50 city highway (maybe even more highway) and as it looks I'm going to be lucky to break 25 mpg. I seem to be able to get anywhere between like 18 and 32 mpg depending if all city, all highway or somewhere in between. I'm not complaining though because I definitely love having my turbo P5 (nana)

I don't think I have gotten worse than 24 mpg, even with mostly city driving.

Winter is of coarse way worse for gas mileage.

Guess I'll chime in also. Last month I had the spark plugs, spark plug wires and PCV (?) valve replaced, 2 weeks ago I drove from Las Vegas to Phoenix/Gilbert, Arizona (325 miles) with the A/C on I got 34 MPG, highway, both directions. Here at home I only drive streets (NDOT is working on all freeways so they are nightmares and its quicker on the streets) and I am averaging about 29 MPG. Both figures are up about 5MPG since I had the work done. Oh yeah, by the way, I also have about 1300lbs worth of stereo in the vehicle so I guess I am very happy with the mileage.

Yes I think spark plugs coil and wires make difference, I can already tell my mpg is improving by looking at the needle. I feel like this tank is gonna last me 3 weeks...usually only 2.

Ive had a few tanks of 400+ but it was ususually 380 for a tank.

Normally fill up at a quarter tank making about 260. Went slightly past the other day and got 300, but VERY smooth under the speed limit driving as I was carting elderly women around (for the love of God please don't ask)

Put ~330 miles on the last tank and the light wasn't even on - somewhere around 11+ gallons. All I remember is it was roughly 28.6 mpg. I drive roughly 13 miles to and from work every day which is mixed city/highway. I'd have to say about 60% highway and 40% city if I were to guess the split. The big thing is staying out of boost...

Just set a new personal record:

All highway, driving from MA to GA yesterday. Was at 400 miles before reaching 1/4 tank. Refueled at 434 miles with 11.14 gallons . . . just shy of 39 MPG. Not shabby at all for a car rated at 31 on the window sticker!

MA to GA is mostly downhill... if you play it right.

Last week the SWMBO and I went to the N.C. Outer Banks. Drove the speed limit the whole way with the a/c blasting. (The speed limit at the OBX is 55.) On the way back I gassed up at just below 1/4 tank with 420 miles on the trip meter. Put in 12.1 gallons. 34.7 mpg!!

It seems that keeping the RPM at 3k (roughly 60 mph) or below really improves mpg.
