MPI Tuner dyno proven@ 400hp

ok here is an example of a dyno graph that doesnt cross at 5252.

Nick any reason why some cross and some dont? I have no clue.

nick what type of gains will you achive with a stock speed? or at least with a fmic and hardpipes since that seems to be the most common upgrade that people have

ok this statement made is kind of bothering me:

"Horsepower = distance x rpm x torque
33,000

OR

Horsepower = rpm x torque
5252

Because torque and rpm are divided by 5252, torque and horsepower are always equal at 5252 rpm. If you solve the equation at 5252 rpm, the rpm value cancels out, leaving horsepower equal to torque. If you plot torque and horsepower curves on a graph, the lines will always cross at 5250 rpm (rounded off). If they dont, the curve is undoubtedly bogus.

here is the link i got it from:

i guess the only sense i can make of the graphs is that the rpm reading on the bottom is lke 1K rpms off. If they were 5252 @ 4252 instead of the graphs crossing at 4252 then i could see.

Im guessing it is just a problem with the scaling or something with the rpm readings.

Nick, I saw you called me, but I was sleep. Damn good numnbers! I have new tuning logs to send you. I think I am maxed out... :(

Nice Number Nick! I knew the Mazdaspeed could do it. Sounds like an insane set-up.

What clutch is he running on that beast and how is it holding?

Well..I was at the dyno day as well. It was a good time. Some really good numbers were put up today.

I have videos of all runs..as well as some behind the scene footage.

Just need time to upload!

Bone stock MSP OEM setup. I learned from the Viper projects not to spend money on aftermarket parts if you do not need to. Thanks again

Man that thing screamed!!!! The sound of the motor was awesome. Don't know about the crossing of the hp and torque, but who cares, that was the REAL deal. There are several witnesses and the files will be available for all to see and play with. It is a friggin beast!

I have to mention my full modern performance turbo kit produced 228hp @ 8psi. I have yet to see any turbo kit produce that much power at 8psi with nothing extra added to what was gotten with the kit. MPNick is the MAN!!!

just because it sounded great doesnt give the dyno graph its validity. All dyno graphs should cross at 5252 and i dont know why his graphs arent.

There has to be a flaw in the software that you were using. I have no doubt the car made a lot of power but i just want to know why the dyno graph is messed up.

Nick, care to reply?
