MPI Tuner dyno proven@ 400hp

almost positive its 8.5:1 Congrats Nick! I knew that MSP would do it..

holy s***.. awesome #'s.. Im pissed i didnt make it out there, i got stuck down in philly till 4pm with no ride home.

i see. what do you think is a safe boost level for stock compreesion and upgraded internals?

Where were you Joe. We hoped you would show up. I whated to see how well the smaller turbo would do. Big Tim did 236 with only 8 psi.

yea I couldnt make it I had work..My clutch wouldnt have yielded any good results anywho...Congrats on Deans motor~! I'm gonna haev to call you up, I have some questions about it...

We were loking to run upto 20psi. We could not get it to hold anything over 15psi. It would shoot up to around 18psi for about a second if that and then settle down to 15psi. Not sure if it is in the wastegate or by-pass valve.

With good afrs, good intercooler and timing retard you can run more then 15psi all day long.

Thanks again

yea if it can still spool lol but yea thats mighty impressive

GT28-RS is one of the fastest spooling turbos out there.

Awesome Nick, I got your voice mail after a nap today and my jaw hit the floor.:) I wasn't expecting quite that high.(rockon) Get me those maps already!;)

This was our first run of the day with the MSP. This was road tuned by me with useing only the MPI Tuner AFR read out and the stock O2. Here is the same pull in two different standards. It has the AFR for the run. You can see the SAE is about 6 hp less then STD it is also about 9 lbs ft of torque less then STD. The AFR stays around 12 to 12.5. We have about 7 degrees of timing out with C16 fuel. The engine only has less then 500 miles on it so we were real easy with timing. We can more then likely run with almost all of the timing retard out but not until we get about 1,000 miles on it. BTW these runs have none of the smoothing tool used at all.

This is the real deal. 4th gear from 2,000 rpm, SAE standrd and no smoothing tool used at all.

Thanks again

Here is our best run without useing the intercooler spray. The exhaust cut out was open. Boost did spike to 18psi at first but then dropped to 15psi.
Thanks again

This is the money run. 310 hp and 338 torque. We had the spray on the intercooler, 18psi spike drop to 15psi, open cut out.
Thanks again

also on those sheets, is that HP and torque shown, or are those both HP curves? Im just curious.

what happened between 3750 and 5K on that last sheet? did you let off?

Something in the curves are off on all of the runs today with all of the cars. This is the newest RunViewer software. On the dyno software we all made a few more ponies and the curves were much cleaner. Not sure what the problem is.

The cooler spray hit and the boost dropped off big time. We leaned out a bit more then we liked. We could not try the spray again because the bottle is only good for one full run. The next run the bottle was gone.

Thanks again

The first, fourth and fifth are both. The second and third are hp and AFR only.

Thanks again

ok, thats what i thought but i was having some problems understanding the graphs. The hp numbers match but the torque is kinda whacky.

Also, one big problem i saw with the graphs is that on ALL dyno graphs displaying torque and horsepower the torque and hp curves always cross at 5252 rpms.

This is why i am kinda wondering why these graphs dont cross there...

Take a look at all dyno graphs anywhere and the HP and tourque always cross at 5252 rpms.

here is an example of a dyno graph from sport compact car of an srt-4

I basically am just wondering why your hp and torque curves dont cross at 5252 rpms.

Im not trying to discredit you, i believe you i am just wondering if you can explan it to me.

Thanks

im looking around on google and i guess there are a few graphs that dont cross at 5252. I always thought that all dyno graphs cross at 5252 with hp and torque. The majority cross though.
