Mazda CX-7
I've read on this forum and on write ups about the CX-7 that the fuel consumption on these cars are not great.

I have an 09 CX7 GT AWD, with no modifications. Its been maintained and just went around 32000 km or roughly 20000 miles. i like the car and it handles well. I am the 2nd owner.

It has roughly has the same size gas tank as my honda van which has a 6 cylinder. weight wise, I am not sure on the comparison, I've never looked it up.

I get better gas mileage on my van, city and highway. During the summer anyways when i let the gas get below 1/4 in daily driving, get about 350km. On the highway, I've gotten 550ish doing 110-130 kms on a 600km trip two weeks ago with 4 people (2 adults/2kids) and a little luggage for a weekend family thing.

I am curious to know what others age getting, because I know I have a bit of a heavy foot and it show sometimes more than others. obviously hills, wind and other contributing factors play its roll in consumption.

I have a 2011 CX-7 turbo model and I get 19.7 mpg. Most of my driving is my 25-mile commute each way for work - mostly on tolled highways here in Texas, but I have a lead foot and usually drive 70-80 mph.

So, not great gas mileage, but not as bad as a big SUV.

non turbo here.
i have achieved 28-30 mpg hwy depending on the wind and traffic. i averaged between 65 to 75 mph.
for city driving i have averaged 20-21.

I just purchased my 2010 GT and took on a cross country trip where I was able to acheive about 23 mpg... but routine driving to work has only been about 19 mpg at the most! Have not been thrilled with that part since going from a Camry that got over 30 mpgs... but have been happy with a more comfortable ride on long trips!
