Brian your giving my the tuning bug again looking at this Mp5. Great Job on the car!!!

It's awesome to see others that are still building Protege, the car stopped being made in 2003... and we are still here..

Brakes are so sick!

I did a threshold brake test the other day for the first time really to push very hard and see what they can do.. The back go so light that it locked even with the bias set front, and lifted a bit because there was a momentary gap in the skid mark.

Wow this thing is so unbelievably sick. You make me feel so poor lol.
How much did the engine itself cost if you don't mind me asking? (All the internals and the head etc.)

s*** like this is only expensive if you do it all at once, which I might like to add is impossible. I have been working on it for YEARS. Saving, then paying is the only way to do it.. Break the project down into Winter/Spring projects..

another great build, saw this build on another forum but never really read into it. Im really loving that Haltech Racepak. I WANT ONE!!!! You can definitely tell straight cut gears are in there. Don't know if I missed it, but have you dynoed at all or done any 1/4 mile passes?

New Turbo in the Spring, so there wasn't much point in Dynoing it before. I am not really a numbers guy. There were some fools here that glaimed to have a 500 WHP Skittle, but he also had a stereo. He was Unable to touch the MP5T, probably due to the Weight and Suspension, more than anything else. I was running only 25 Psi at the Time

def big fan of this one... subbed

Big s*** Planned for the winter.

I was just thinking the other day, are you still going with the Yokahama S-drives? Since this is your fun car (ie not your DD) wouldn't you want a higher performance tire or an R-compound?

I have Paradas as well and was going to buy another set for the spring until I saw you mentioned they are discountinued. Boo.

Your skittle comment made me chuckle and brings up a great point about how people are hung up on dyno numbers. Paper racing is useless.

I Drive it everywhere during the summer.. To stick a full RR Compound on would probably make the car handle better, but at the same time, I fear that I would be constantly changing tires... (At least more often than I do)

I believe that I easily put 15,000 Km on the car since April, and it is being taken apart soon as it is becoming winter, so back to building...

Updating Trans
Fresh Motor
Driveshafts
New Turbo
Downpipe
Intake Plumbing.

Quaife ATB LSD, Stickey Tires
Removing any weight from the rear that wasn't essential.
Moving any weight that was to as far front as possible.
I moved the engine 3/4" To the passenger side and Modified the Fuel Tank to center the weight from left to right. (With 1/2 Tank and 185 Lb Driver)
The car literally sits at 2350 Dry. With the a heavy front bias on distribution.

Don't forget, it is made for Texas mile... Watch videos on how cars launch at the Texas mile.. It isn't like a 1/4 at all. Power is delivered more smoothly off the launch because most cars that run have greatly elongated gearing.

Thanks for your questions I would love to discuss it further if you have any others.

if you're ever looking to let one of those engines go for the right price, let me know :)

subbbbbinnnn'''''''

What about some Star Specs instead of the Sdrives? As I'm sure you already know, a lot of cats really like them and would recommend them.

I don't plan on tracking the car I just don't want to have traction issues when I'm done of course I won't have nearly the power you do anytime soon

It is manageable, you get good at anticipating it, just like torque steer, you are so familiar with it that you don't even realize that you are correcting for it

Love everything you're doing Brian. I just can't imagine how much time went into weight reduction alone! God, I've done many things to my car that involved countless numbers of hours, but this is far beyond me. Pure dedication! I love it...

Brian, have you ever considered dropping in the 2.3 from the Speed3 for more displacement? Would it even fit in the P5 bay?

At this point, I would think that even thinking about it would be a step in the wrong direction?

I agree that it would be a step in the wrong direction at this point in time, but I'm assuming there's going to be a point in time where he might feel that he's hit a wall with the 2.0. That being the case would the 2.3 be a consideration?

Brian, have you gone with a larger bore on any of your engines yet?

I would say boosted KL before an MZR.

Thanks, It is a Blast to drive.

No, it would require too much and I am currently already making Huge HP.. I would need to change my transmission and throw away 10,000$ just to have a car with no top speed again...

180 Deg

Not when the transmission is considered..

only to true up the shape of the cylinder.

I would say boosted KL before an MZR.
