I phoned mazda canada about the clunk problem, and they told me that they have only had a few people phone in about the problem! If everyone has it, then everyone should complain. Thats probably why nothing is getting done about it. We're probably too busy complaining about it here then we are to mazda canada/usa (with exception to a few people)....I've taken my steps to complain to dealerships/mazda canada, and i think that everyone else should call in to complain as well. Apparently they are gonna try and set up a meeting with myself and the district rep so that they can see the problem in the flesh... I think the only other person to do this was newf, so c'mn people, PHONE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (rant) :)

AMEN Brotha!

If you do a search. You'll find that I too had a meeting with a few Dist. Reps, and chief engineers on such and such dates ages back. .And I PLEADED everyone to call before the meeting because they too were giving me this bulls*** about "only a few" people have the problem.

Now the story the latest excuse is, the Part 156D is the fix, which it is not.

Killer is, my car just hit 5 weeks today. New 156D bushings, for the 3rd time, and teflon tape. Still NO noise. I hear it from time to time, but nothing major. Figures, as soon as I get Mazda's attention my car behaves differently.

This is the 1st time we've put teflon tape on with these bushings, and for some reason it's working this time. At least so far. It's lasted up to 6 weeks before so I'm not calling it fixed yet. Besides, what kind of fix is one where there's tape holding my car together anyhow?

Yeah, she told me...."I thought they fixed that problem?" Of course, i told her "If you're talking about the 156D bushings, then no, they haven't fixed the problem....Mine just recently lasted a week and a half....I'm waiting for more to arrive.

Basically though, without people phoning in, mazda doesn't feel that the problem is big enough to really care about:bs:

BINGO

That's exactly the problem

If I had a cookie, I'd give it to ya!

Now pass it on. Everyone tell everyone else, then everyone should know :)

who did u speake to?

man several times (over 15) i called in but i never had a chance to go pass the customer suport line. they never let me speak to any of the reps. they kept on saying that i have to go see a dealer to fix my problem :bs: .
if you can pleaew post the tp#, ext and the neme of the person you spoke to i'll try my best to fix an appointment with that person and drop by at Mazda HQ (Scarborough).
later

we went through all this before...a lot of people have called but they are just giving excuses...The only thing that works is writing letters to Mazda Canada or USA...be professional in your letter and they will help you out...

write letters to MNAO. it seems to work better (Ive done both). Be professional and descriptive. I'll update you all with more as progress is made. (progress is being made in my case) Almost to the point that I may just be satisfied :)

Yes, being professional and descriptive is the key. You don't want to come across as a childish brat whining about his car. That's the last thing we need right now.

Im new to this problem (probable bacause I only have 7k on my mp3,and just getting started on mods), but after reading about everyone having this problem the professional, descriptive letter seems to be a sound idea. I personal think it might make more of an impact if you have as many mp3 owners complain in one letter instead of individually. Kinda write one generic letter for all owners who care then have those owners listed by name and vin and also a way for Mazda to contact each owner. I think that letter would make more of a roar this way, instead of a bunch of letters making wimpy meows. Plus that would prevent bad letters from getting to mazda making it harder for the true complaints to be heard.

just a thought

Yeah, we did that a while ago....Doomer_MP3 was supposed to send them all in, but we've gotten zero response from it:confused:

well if thats the case the only other thing I can think of is organizing a giant mp3 road trip to mazda headquarters and starting a muck. Not that that would work but the road trip be fun kinda like a gumball for mp3's!!

someone should start a web-page where we can all sign a petition of some sort about the bushings..at least if some people are to lazy or dont have time to call Mazda, they would be more likely to go to this site and put their name and other info on it then when we get enough signatures, send it off to Mazda, then they couldnt say its only a couple of people, we would need almost everyone to sign since not everyone who owns an MP3 is a frequent user of this site.

Mazda will pay more attention to you on an individual basis. They don't care about this site, they don't care about us as a collective group. As individuals, you have a chance. We've all been down this road (many) times before trying to come up with ideas, but so far the only positive response has come from quality individual letters. I'd love to take a road trip to the HQ's but seeing that is in CA and I'm in PA...well, lets just say it ain't happenin' :)
Good luck everyone. Patience, persistence and professionalism will help every time.

What did they do for you to say that there was a "positive response."

Give me a few days and I will have a web survey up and running to collect all clunk/squeak/scrunch issues into a DB to give some real stats and info to Mazda.

Ok Im going to ask a stupid question.....My onlt defense is that I dont spend as much time on this site as I should....Sorry!
anyway, are we talking about the noise that I here when I go over a bump that sounds like it is coming from my trunk? Not they same noise that I hear in the morning when it is cold, but a sound kind like plastic stretching in my trunk......
Dont bash me for being slow......:)

plastic strethching? i wouldn't describe it like that.

The clunk first sounds like you got a shoe flopping around in the trunk. Then it turns into something much worse, that sounds like something is literally banging up against the bottom of the car, near your feet, you'll even feel it in your seat, and even the shifter. That would be the sway bar moving around once the bushings fail completely.

The best thing to do is get a singl point of contact. Talk to one person at Customer service and get there name and phone extension. That way no one can be told, I haven't heard that before or any of that and tell them you want to file a complaint or issue a complaint. You will have to mention that the dealer has checked it and knows there is nothing they can do.
