MP3 vs MP5

I raced one this morning w/a injen cai and i was able to keep up with no problems. I'm running a short ram + 17" wheels that weigh about 24lbs each so it was a good run. MP3's have a higher air-2-fuel ratio??? What other specs does the mp3 have above the mp5...other than being lighter.........

Before the Turbo I'd get outrun by a stock P5 becuse of the 150 Ib audio system and dynamat.

MP3 just had the advanced timing, 3 degrees and the 2.25" muffler. Thats its only advantage.

the mp3 should be a few tenths faster in the 1/4...stock vs stock.

How about a MP5 with MP3 mods...

Hey guys, I just bought an NEW 02 MP5 last Friday from a dealer in Phoenix. It's Black Mica has the Racing Hart 17" MP3 rims, dark window tint, Mazdaspeed Exhaust, AEM intake, and a Custom leather interior (on an 02). Oh yea, did I mention that it has the FULL MP3 suspension (shocks, struts, stabilizers, braces), needless to say my MP5 has zero body roll. It is like an MP3 but it's a MP5. The best part is the dealer did all the mods and they are covered under my warranty! I'll get some pics and post for you all.

Hey! I'm in PHX, too - near the Desert Ridge Mall area.

I know the exact car you're talking about as I saw it over at Camelback Mazda about 2-3 months ago. (I got mine on Bell) Beautiful finish on the Harts! And that custom leather work with the P5 embroidery on the seats! I even got on the floor to check out the susp. setup. Nice!
A young sales guy I talked to said he was trying to save his money to buy it. I asked them to fire it up and blip the exhaust (Mazdaspeed) to help me decide if I should get the accessory muffler for my '02.5 - so I did!

Congrats on the P5 if it's the same one. It was perfect in every way. Don't change a thing!

Neal, so you're the TOV's site designer. I used to visit that site for info's when I still had my CRX (converted SiR). I guess most people who own hondas are now switching to mazdas. Glad to see you onboard!

Yep. That's me. I've become disenchanted with Honda lately, though. Mazda seems to be becoming what Honda once was. So I'm hopping on the wagon: MSP, P5, MP3, RX-8, new 6, Mazdaspeed bits coming... HOT!

Hey GXL I paid about 21k for it.

To answer TheHonzaP5 I got it at Showcase Mazda (aka Camelback Mazda) 16th St and Camelback.

NealMcD - Dude it is the same car you saw then. Custom embroidered leather, MP3 rims, falken tires, MP3 suspension and the ever-so-sweet Mazdaspeed exhaust. The car is perfect and drives like a dream. I will put some pics in this thread by the end of the week. Anybody know about any get togethers for Mazda owners in Phoenix? I am going to get it washed and then take some digi's of it to post. Black gets dirty real easy in Phoenix. Thanks guys.
