mp3 price

03.5 msp
how much are mp3's going for? I found one for 3200 with 95000 miles on it. guy said he put a "new" block in but it idles pretty rough below 3100 rpms. just wondering if I should pick it up or not as I have no idea how much these go for

That's an insanely low price. Rough idle could be one of a few things, some simple, some less so...

I pmed the guy for some pics of the car before I go look at it. it supposedly has 4 dings. I think I might pick this up. I am hoping it just has some kind of vac leak. I doubt its a vac line maybe just a gasket somewhere.

I called the guy and he said that 2 cylinders do not fire untill 3100 rpms. what could cause this. it started after the engine install

two cylinders don't fire until 3100 rpms?

edit:

find out which two cylinders. if 1 and 4 OR 2 and 3, then it is most likely a bad coil pack. If it's not one of those pairs, it could be a bunch of things. Also, find out if this is only at start up, or if it is always at idle.

it's probably the coil pack then. Check to see if the wire harness is cracked, melted or chipped. Ask if he's replaced that coil pack already. If he has, it could be electrical. If so, stay the F away from the car. Electrical problems are a PITA with modern cars.

Oh, here's a pic of a melted/screwed up coil pack:

coincidentally, my coil pack for 2 & 3 blew as well....

yah electrical issues are the worst... im still working on mine just cause im lazy and havent pinpointed the exact problem... some reason i can not start the car with the ignition so i bypassed that an ran a wire (on a switch of course) to the starter to get it going... everything clicks and sounds like it should work when i turn the key... unfortunatly i already burnt out 1 starter because i let someone else drive who forgot to turn the starter off... gotta love the lifetime warranty!!
