MP3 parts/Future set-up

Hey guys, I recently joined the forums because fairly soon I'll be gettin my moms MP3,(yes she drives an MP3, but she got it because we knew I'd get the car she bought at the time) I have to pay her a little but I dont mind, its a good deal. I've looked around online all this weekend came up with this set-up for the car, I know I'm dreaming, but dreams can come true! So now its just about saving money.... a lot of money.....

CAI - probably an eBay one to save money, am told it works just as well...
Headers - OBX
Exhaust - skunk2
Turbo/SC - eventually

thats about it performance-wise, probably a short-shifter and other things like that , but if you guys think something else that would be good like clutch or anything, just suggest them...

Eventually I'd probably want to do some body work.

So thats what I've got for now, gotta get working for some money. Tell me what you guys think about the set-up and body and everything. And like I said, if you think im missing anything tell me so I can start my list and start saving.

Welcome to the forum. Be sure to add your name to the sticky list of MP3 owners in this section of the forum.

As far as spending your money goes, don't bother with the exhaust and body kit (just my opinion here). Your stock flows quite well and sounds great. The body kit would be last if at all. Your MP3 has a factory kit that looks great... no need to spend money there when you could add it to your performance. Here's what i'd do:

1) Shortshift (B&W, Kartboy, all good)
2) EBAY CAI with blue couplers (not gray)
3) OBX Header

Silentsno, thanks for the opinion on everything and yeah a body kit would be the very last thing anyway, just wondering what you guys though of that one. And your order of things was just about what I was planning to do anyway.

smp3000, how much you asking for it? It looks real good, and it would be nice to have but one reason for doing all this myself would be money over a period of time, but who knows, I could check...

i liked the look of the buddy club 2 kit. .. .lol i used to have it. ....i will eventually get my rear readone.. but as for the front end of it. .. i loved how it looked but hated thw way it fit. ..

i'm also thinking of gettin the buddy club 2 kit, but since u have an mp3, y don't u just get the front lip...it looks sick and won't take much money from ur wallet

as for the hood....there r always group buys for them...just keep your eyes open

i have the ebay intake with the yellow couplers and it has been great.

I just mentioned blue couplers instead of gray/grey ones because people including me have had fitting issues with the ones sold w/ gray couplers. Blue have know to be safe.

smp300 - Yeah, I expected it to be around there, so that why I said doubt it, I cant really get that money together right now, sorry, It is a nice car though, I just like being hands on, and doing things my self, I also need to save some money because Im planning on a sportbike and Im always needing money for my dirtbike too.

But.... I DO have a brother who lives in tempe, AZ, goes to ASU. He himself would like it but has no money either, but I'll ask him if any of his friends want a car like that and send him the link to try and help you out!

Traitorhound - what was wrong with the fit..? did it not lines up well and leave big gaps?

SMP300, I im'ed my brother but he didnt respond so I dont know if he got it or not, I'll talk to him again tommorow and tell you if he knows anybody who'd be interested.

Also, if anybody had ANY modificatoin of any type that they think would be worth the money, please post, becasue I wanna get a list of what I should get so I can get an ida of how much I'll wanna save and set aside for the car.

to my knoledge there are no SC kits for the fs_de motor. besides the custom on e build by area 52 for ww. id imagine a turbo kit would put outmore power..
btw ive never seen that hood, i might pick one up real soon. also anyone have and comments on the buddy club 2 kit. im sick of body kits not fitting right. they advertise 100% oem fit and sometimes its ******* bulls***. grrrrrrrr
