Yes, but it isn,t very beneficial with the stock ignition mapping the way it is. It seems to advance the timing too much when you tune out the stock injectors. That is why we figured to go with a unit that will do everything according to its own mapping and calculations, rather than fighting to get our results from the stock unit.hukster00 said:perfworks - are you still working on getting the afc to work ?
1. You wont need ANY other device on the vehicle any longer. You wont even need a boost controller. As it is built into the system. Just needs activation. We will even get the traction control working for those launches at the trackjrodhotrod said:Nick, Andy, awesome new!![]()
This is finally something that I can get excited about. Still learning a lot about forced induction and tuning, and the plug and play of the system is exactly what I needed.
a couple of questions,
1. As I understand it, the J&S wouldn't be necessary with the parallel unit?
2. It will be easy enough to pass california emissions with this unit, even if I install the larger injectors on my MSP?
3. Will you be coming anywhere in California for one of your dyno days?

2. Emmisions from the tailpipe you shouldnt have any issues if the EMS is tuned correctly and you follow our instructions. I will go into more of this at some point in the week.
3. That will be one of the stops we will make.
First I'll clear up this misinformation.MPNick said:How do you remove the OBDII computer and past any state test? It is not legel to remove the OEM computer and it will not pass. Ask Joe S, you had him remove his stock computer and he now cannot pass NJ inspection. He need to buy another computer just to pass. The question was asked if they can still pass inspection. The most states that do more then just test the tailpipe, in this case they will fail.
Thanks again

We have an AEM UEGO package. It will be used in conjunction with the unit. It replaces the stock Narrowband sensor or it can go into a seperate bung. We send out specific instructions as to how and where to mount the unit.doggman said:ALSO: what exactly is the Wideband option that you offer? And what does the pnp actually look like and how would you change the boost from this unit or would you need a laptop?

If you are reffering to "KZA" then this has nothing to do with me. "chaz" a fellow member here on the forum swapped ECUs with him. I simply helped them do it so as not to take up too much time.
From my understanding the Check Engine light came on from the lack of continuity in the VTCS circuit. Common for those who switch to a P5 ecu. ANY time the CEL is present the state inspection station will fail it.
The car will pass emmisions testing with flying colors. We have specific instructions for the enduser.
I have been working with AEM on many of the Data stream issues.MAMotorsports said:It's good to see someone else working on a PnP system.
A few people here know what we have been doing and I will let it out as well.
We are also using AEM for a standalone. We have been using AEM for over a year(we were the first to use it on a Mustang and give feedback to AEM on it) and IMO it's the best software on the market.
I'm sure Nick has encounted the same problems we have with the Protege.
Good luck with the project and hope it works out well.
To everyone that hasn't played with the software,
download it here.

You will be ignored if you continue. I have already answered these questions. Please refrain from posting in this thread.MPNick said:He swapped out the ecu based on you telling him that he needed do so with the turbo kit.
You are talking about tailpipe testing only. Most states do more then just that. You cannot even pass inspection in the state you live in with the AEM. The question was can he pass inspection in his state. If they do more then test tailpipe and most states do, he will not pass.
