mp3 files help

ok this sound like a dumb qustion but i have to ask , iv have always had my mp3 player in the car and played regular 18-20 tracks cds(cd-r's) , but after surfin the web iv found out that i could have up 60 tracks in one cd is this true..?and if this is what programs do i need to do this and is there special cds i need to buy to fit all 60 tracks.. if this helps i have a kenwood KDC-X969..thanxs for ur time..

you just burn as a data cd instead of an audio cd. . fill that beotch up with mp3's and (i think the 969 supports it ) wma's and you can have like 30-600 songs depending on bitrate. . . .im probably off on those numbers but ya get the point

yeah, I do the same thing.......burn the CD as "data" with the MP3 files on there.........I usually encode all my CD's at 128 bit and can normall get between 150-175 songs on a disc.

yeah, and somtimes I encode at lower bitrates for the car, seeing as how you cant tell the difference when rolling 80 in my car. I have as many as 250-300 songs on disk!

the head unit does need a MP3 decoder as long as it has that you are set.

i dont know i try to burn my mp3 files on to the cd and i just couldnt .. any help on what cd burner program u r using..im using "adaptec directcd wizard" just dont know

oh..or can some one direct me to a site where i shows me step by step maybe where u haved learned

It should work with any burner program.......you'll want to use the options to burn a "data" disc.......the same as if you were going to burn a backup of some MS Word docs or photos. Don't use any of the options where the software mentions burning "music" because it'll try to convert the MP3's to standard CD format and you'll have the same thing as before with 15 songs per disc.
