** Re added the pin out for the ECU. RPM signal is 48. **

Well, here it is. After alot of research, and a few trips and calls and emails, I have the pin out of the ECU. And thanks to Racing Beat I have the pins of the wires needed for the S-AFC :) So here it is.

<IMG SRC=http://www.mazdamp3.com/members/NC_MP3/ecu.jpg>

Permanent power - pin 55.
Permanent power with fuse - pin 4.
Switched power - pin 71 or 97.
Ground - pin 24, 51,76,77,and 103.
Throttle position - pin 89.
Air flow - pin 88
RPM - pin 48
Vehicle Speed - pin 58
Intake Air Temp - pin 39
Coolent Temp - pin 38

I am pretty sure the pressure sensor is a hot wire type, according to Racing Beat, but I will keep asking about that.

The MAF sensor voltage range IS 0-5 V. Anything below 0.86V and above 4.90V throws a CEL, so operating range is between 0.86V and 4.90V.

anyone have an updated list of the wiring to the Apex'i SAFC?
Might be getting one soon and need to know which pins the wires go to.
Stupid question, where is the P5 ECU located?

can somebody give me detailed installs or pics or any input pls.

Thanks!

Nice info, i think we will all need that one day. Thanks to Massyellowmp3, the RPM WIRE IS PIN 48, it is a purple/white wire. I actually hooked up a Apexi controller and that wire is 100% acurate. You can also get your power, ground , and switch from a different source other than the ECU. They just tell you to put it at the ECU to be easier.

I have the wiring diagram book...lemme check too. The wire is Violet and White, and goes to the instrument cluster, but I have not been able to verify that it is the RPM wire. It is a save bet though to trust what Pro5zoom has said.

anyways, can you get me a copy the the wiring guide? Maybe scan it and post it here or email it to me, thanks!

Can anyone confirm the wiring codes above are correct, i don't want to fry my ECU.

That would be a lot of time consuming scanning. It is about $50 from the dealer.

I just went and copied the pin out and component control systems pages out of the factory shop manual supplement for vehicle electrical. I just got my e-manage so I finished my research on pin out to hook it up. The only thing I need now is the 3 switch settings on the internal rotary switches on the e-manage. I've got the Japanese FS settings, but it uses a slightly different ECU. Also, we've got the ECU connector with a single bolt in the center of the connector. This identifies it as a Ford ECU (according to several sources) which the Japan spec Mazdas don't use. I'll have to call or email Greddy to get the right setting but I'm installing it at any rate. I just won't power it up until the rotary switches are right.

To answer a previous question - the P5 and MP3 ECUs are found in the passenger's footwell. The pinouts are the same for both ECUs.

GREAT!!!!! I've been looking for this info for weeks, thanks everyone, now I can hook back up my S-AFC and my RSM from APEXi from my old car !!!! you guys are the best!!!! thanks very very much!!!!

I was wondering if anyone has actually installed a e-manage or apexi AFC. For months I have heard people talking bout installing one but have never heard of anyone actually doing it was wondering if anyone has acomplished it yet and what the results were if so.
