Mounting Cone Air Filter

I have a generic cone air filter. To mount it I removed all the stock intake, up until the airbox. Then I removed the top of the air box , removed the stock air filter, and attached the cone filter to the intake. The cone is resting on the bottom tray of the airbox. I tried removing the bottom of the airbox, but the the stock plastic intake did not support the weight of the cone filter. So now the cone is resting in the airbox. I saw some pics of people with the stock intake and a cone filter. How'd ya do it? Did u have to mount it in place somehow to support the weight?

I'll try to get some pics over the weekend to show it. But again it's some generic filter a friend had lying around, so I might just need some ghetto solution for it.

so you took a air intake filter and just connected it to the stock system? does that do anything besides make noise? i have a filter from my cai from my honda i can use that for now untill i get enough money for a injen cai. let me kno i think im goin to try it before i go out tonight :)

ther is a sensor, how can u keep the sensor without taking out the airbox thinG? will it work properly like that

See if this works?
