I have used Mobil 1 5w30 in all 3 of my rebuilds. The last motor lasted about 60k miles before snapping a rod. When taking the motor apart, the internals looked clean as hell. The same thing with the other builds. Minimal signs of wear and really looked clean as hell.
If you are burning so much oil, you should consider getting a catch can. For anyone thinking they are not burning oil, you need to look again. It may be less than some others, but unless you are filtering it from going back into the motor, then you definitely are.
A better PCV like from the Millenia S model, will help, but not eliminate.
