Motor mount ripped hole in tranny

:( I got a major problem. At the track the motor mount ripped out and left a big hole in the tranny case. Someone please let me know how this can be fixed or where to get replacement and what I can do to prevent it again. Thanks all. What a bad night

They are urathene (sp?), unlike the stock one which are rubber and have huge gaps in them.

here's a comparison of the front one:

oh I see... yeah they don't look like they have much play in them. I really didn't think that the car had enough tourque to pull that out of there. I just installed a new clutch and an indigo flywheel, and I have a turbo... so I guess I am pulling to much lol.

The mount probably ripped. The stocker is on the right.

You can see here what starts to happen.

Ooh, pics please! More than likely the stock mounts let the trans wind up and when it reached the end of the slack...boom. I don't think anyone else has done that yet. Impressive!

The play in the mount can cause a huge impact when the motor shift, so it puts even more force on the mount than the torque of the motor. Just think about swinging a bat at a tree with a 2 foot long swing and trying to swing with the bat already against the tree...you could put the same amount of torque on the bat, but you're not going to have nearly as much force put on the bat, or the tree as the impact created by the long swing...same with the motor mount. Give it a few inches of swing and BOOOM!

Yeah, after my CM clutch and fidanza flywheel install, that tranny mount got f'ed up. It bottomed out many times under hard accel and when driving on bumpy surfaces while pulling hard in first and second gear.

After my front AWR install, it fixed that.

I am going to get some 3M windo-weld and strengthen the other three mounts.

Looks like this will help a lot without the extreme vibration in a full AWR mounted engine.
