Motor Mount Inserts?

Sorry guys, I've checked the invoice and they didn't list the insert's part number. But they did write "insert installed" (on warranty). This was done last november (22nd) and no more bouncing ever since...

A cheap alternative is to get Mazda to change the engine mount insert on warranty! I had the RR-Racing inserts and when I brought the car for maintenance and other stuff I asked them to put them on. I prolly didn't explain it well enough cuz they changed the OEM inserts with some other kind. But they are a lot stiffer! Works nicely, the only drawback is that I will not be able to install the RR-Racing inserts cuz they no longer fit (I had a mechanic to try but they really did not fit at all). The new ones Mazda put in are quite different but they do the job, no more bunny jumps, not even on wet pavement!
wth? Pics?

Just checked. The rear mount is the #1 mount, the front mount is the #2 and the passenger side mount is #3. These inserts should work with any 2.0 FS engine.
Where is the "front" mount located?

I got them installed on my car. (Front and rear incerts from RR-Racing) I LOVE THEM!!!!!

They fit great, took 2 hours for both to get put in, the first few weeks were a buit rough breaking them in, but now the vibes have clamed back down to as they were stock, but no JERK THE s*** OUT OF YOUR DASH at launch from the excessive wheel hop. Burn outs are crazy smooth!!

The RR-Racing incerts will work on all FSDE or FSDET engines

Ill take pics later, although its tough to see the rear mount with out getting under the car.

AWR makes side incerts that will fit all proteges.

Here is the front mount, just in front of the raidiator

Here is the rear mount, under the intake manifold

You can see the throttle in the Pic above it

Cool, thanks for the feedback. Great pictures!

I might not be able to do them myself, but at least I know what's going on when I take the car in.

Actually, I think that people have described numerous times on here how to do the front one, so I best search :D.

No Prob

The front isnt too hard as its easy to get at, the rear is a b**** because of where it is, You could give the front a go and bring her in for the rear, it shouldnt take a shop more then 1 hour toget it done.

I have the front and rear rr-racing motor mount inserts. It took me about 2 hours to install both (30 min for the front 90 min for the back) Vibration at idle is noticable but not annoying or harsh. ZERO wheel hop! For the price I think the inserts are the way to go if you dont mind a difficult time changing the rear.

I have had them in for over a month and I can still notice it but like I said it not bad at all, just enought to tell thier not stock motor mounts. Oh and when the AC is on at idle you can really feel the vibration but I never use my AC so I dont care

I'm gonna go ahead and subscribe to this thread to remind myself that I really need to inspect my rear mount in a few weeks when I'm done traveling to see if I can get these. I'm thinking as long as I'm not completely torn through on the rear mount I'll be ok reinforcing with the inserts.

My mechanic said he doesn't know how to install these. WTF? Maybe I could try the dealer. Damn!

WTF is right!!!

Directions

1.Losen bolt through motor mount <---- PITA
2. take bolt out
3. remove bracket on engine <--- air tools help
4. INSERT motor mount INSERTS
5. put everything back together <--- need jack for engine

What kind of mechanic is this??

Lol, I guess he's never done them. But it's pretty lame, I think we both agree :D.

Thanks for the outline, I might even attempt it myself :D.

wow only an hour an 1/2 for rear?
took my close to 4 hours tryinig to get the fuckingmount off... since i couldn't i just took off the bracket from the motor and shoved the inserts in and yeah

it took forever and it was such a b****.

well i love it though
when i turn on AC at idle its terrible but without it its ok

They will still break in more.

It's been just over 2 months of me tracking the car pretty much twice a week, and hard core pushing her, burn outs all over the place, and they are just now settling. To the point I want to get the side mount incerts put in soon.

Starting the car was weird for a bit,

No wheel hop, wheel whobble, kinda its weird, but thank the lord still no Jerk the s*** out of the Dash.

That's what I'm saying. 1/2 for the rear? How is that possible.
